That sucks, at least you're okay. all drivers are insanely bad these days

its amazing that even with edging $6/gallon gas people blow up to 45 in a 25 just to immediately slam on the brakes at a stop sign/light, and do it again for 1 block, and again, again. like lol just completely burning gas and brakes for no reason, not even saving off a minute of travel

as a Buffalo resident: they're loud so that's annoying but it's a better single person transport than 1 guy driving a RAM 3500 so overall I'm pretty neutral. Also the cops seem to hate them so that's another point in the pro column

being occasionally slightly annoying is way less of a crime than basically anything drivers routinely do, so imo we can figure out what to do about dirt bike mobs once we've won the war on cars

for all the talk of how dangerous atvs are, it's cars racking up all the kills

Fine as long as they stay on the streets and yield to people and aren't loud as poo poo (I kind of doubt they're considerate about these things). People take their ATVs onto our greenway paths and that sucks.

This is probably petty of me, but this morning the sidewalk was blocked off at multiple points because a road crew put all their "road work ahead" signs on it to notify drivers that a lane was closed. It's a four lane street, so it's barely an interruption for drivers. The signs took up the entire sidewalk though, so I shoved them down the hill.

lol good

there's a bike lane they just finished putting in before the start of the winter maybe a block from my house. and BECAUSE they finished it just before winter and decided they weren't going to be plowing it, it is not only still blocked off by construction signs but has just become a defacto parking and garbage can lane and man it is infuriating

a two stroke is lubricated by oil mixed in with the fuel so they're constantly burning oil and the emissions are loving nuts.

I have been radicalized for at least 10 years but all those great videos have really renewed by car-hate fire. we can just not build poo poo cities but... we dont??? I cannot stand it.

the council here sometimes thinks about changing things for the better and sends out cute little surveys that take 2 years to be processed before they consider doing anything and when they finally commit to a new protected bike lane it doesn't go anywhere useful, is insanely compromised to protect existing on-street parking and takes 5 years to build. meanwhile the roads department side of the council has constructed hundreds of kilometers of new roads and car infrastructure without a single loving survey or community consultation

car centric urban planning is like the epitome of capitalism corrupting the very environment around you at a level so deep you cannot even fathom the alternatives
like, we could build cities and our transport networks around pedestrian accessible zones, link them up with various combos of light and heavy rail and have a poo poo ton of space left over for people to live in
but instead we have to forever destroy untold hectares of land by covering them in asphalt, then filling them to the brim with noisemaking stinking choking machines filled with explosives and death and making the entire urban landscape accessible only to said machines. also we have to constantly defy statistics because instead of relying on a few qualified trained operators for all everyone has to be their own qualified trained operator for their personal steel and explosive death machine

all of this so a bunch of assholes could buy bigger yachts, it is so ridiculously maddening lmao

Saying "cars aren't a replacement for 90% of people" is a dumb response even if you're car brained because (due to the way traffic works) even if you can only get 10% to bike that massively reduces traffic for people who do drive.

Car brained people are constantly throwing tantrums and saying "no don't build cheap bike infrastructure that would massively reduce traffic for us because we hate bikes, instead let us sit in a traffic jam for hours every day"
