Charger never had a manual as it won't fit in the trans tunnel, you can get a Challenger with a 6MT.

After a less than great experience with the 1979 Fiat we picked up on Thanksgiving 2020 my wife was looking to try again and with nice spring weather she really wanted a convertible. This little thing popped up on fb marketplace about a half hour from us, test drove it on the 20th and brought it home on the 22nd. 1985 VW Cabriolet with the little 1.8L and a 5-speed, nice cloth interior. Odometer, with broken gears of course, shows 79k miles but overall condition I'd guess it's in the 80-90k range or maybe 100k. Paint is in good shape, interior is really good other than some strange trim damage. Will be something to tinker with and she wants to learn basic auto maintenance with it. Runs good other that right when it starts, smells overly rich.

Grabbed this picture before we pulled out the seats to rug-doctor them and everything else. Once we get it back together and cleaned up I'll post some more pictures.

Just booked my tickets to Europe on the Channel Tunnel for a bit of Easter continental hooning lol. I've yet to give it a proper thrashing, but I get the feeling that Audi went a bit gentle on the tuning because the DSG gearbox isn't up to the punishment that the 4.0 twin turbo engine is easily capable of delivering which is why they put ZF slushboxes in the equivalent RS models.

Something we've learned from 1) owning a convertible and 2) dog-sitting for people in town as a side-hustle: Convertibles are for dogs.

Put a dog in the back seat of a convertible with the roof down --> happy dog! HAPPY DOG

Yeah I mean I don’t need a car since I live in a city now so that’s not as much of a big deal.

The California T will definitely get a wrap, but probably not a crazy custom one since it’d look kind odd. I’m thinking something like Porsches Miami blue for it. Should look real nice with a tan interior. The magnetic suspension or whatever will definitely be nice for touring, and a few track days for fun.

Yes. The ct5v bw featured in that video is the V8, slightly larger chassis (and ~20,000 dollars more expensive than my v6 twin turbo ct4v bw)

And yes, the model naming convention is horrible.

Edit: I looked at the owners manual. The recommendation Is to not exceed 4000 rpm for the first 1500 miles. God knows why the gauge changes at the 500 mile mark to expose the full rpm range instead of at 1500 miles.

It's not a strict data set or anything but from reading 13 years of posts now most of the BMW people who have NOT suffered rod-bearing issues prematurely (a "thing" on both E46 and E92's) religiously follow the break-in/warmup period rules. Could be unrelated, could be luck, whatever. However it seems to be worth it for low-tolerance/high-performance engines especially so you can brag about it on BaT in 20 years for an extra $300k.

A prophylactic $2500 part replacement at ~60k miles (along with regular Blackstone oil analysis to ensure you do it before it's a problem) isn't exactly insane levels of masochism but it's the only thing wrong with the cars so everyone gets very excited about the 1% of cars that have it happen, I guess.
