I hope Crabgrass comes back soon. I have enough faith in Tauhid's storytelling abilities to believe that it won't get reshaped into unrecognizability by the syndicate.

It's an interesting question. I would guess that unrealistically rosy depictions of war might be less popular shortly after a major real world conflict, but it's just a guess.

I can only assume that Holbrook finally saw comments from people somewhere saying it was hosed up that the snake got repeatedly transformed against his will, and this is his attempt to retcon poo poo to be less horrific.
