"'Betrayal' is just an anagram of 'Believe Me'" - Borg queen. I just watched the latest Picard, and is this supposed to mean something?

There was also a cool Daft Punk robot being on the USS Shenzhou bridge that I see now is called a "tactical helmet" which is lame

It is pretty funny that they kept the actress on as a different character who hasn't really gotten any more character development; perhaps even less.

Spock got more character development than 90% of the bridge crew. It's just sloppy writing.

Really should be a machine race based on a species that had their biological forms go extinct and SOMA'd their minds into digital form on a probe they yeeted into deep space and was found by the Federation. Who were then kind enough to set them up as a independent and functional society. Could be some snags too in the whole process, like an episode worth of drama. Who knows.

Wow, nothing happened in that last episode of Picard. 45 minutes spent waiting for Rios to get on a bus. And he's still on the bus!

Shouldn't the Borg be big on trust? They're a collective, you'd think they would have a nuanced perspective on it. Is this going to be another season of star trek about past trauma?

Oh, that's neat: in the 2024 abandoned Chateau Picard, there's an extra wing of the building which isn't present in the 24th century shots and matches the exterior shots of Chateau Picard from Family in TNG. Looks like the season 2 producers slipped that in to retroactively fix the discontinuity between Family and Picard season 1. I guess those wings are what burned down in Generations.

I think the writers are setting this season up to be an origin story for the Borg. Alison Pill is very obviously going to become a Borg Queen. Given Picard keeps stopping and looking meaningfully at her and saying "You need to work out how we get home" there's a chance that they're doing something really dumb like a paradox where the Borg ship at the past is actually her solution to getting Picard & Co back to the future and they accidentally killed themselves.

A plotline like that could be pulled off if done very well. Very easy to screw up.
