RIP John Clayton. What a legend. He seemed like such a nice guy. Back when I'd listen to sports talk while driving I'd always look forward to his segment on Brock and Salk. He'd answer detailed football questions and ridiculous off the wall questions with the same quick thoughtfulness. Seems like he had a strong effect on every football reporter in Seattle.

Specifically, he and Aikman went to ESPN to do Monday Night Football (Where Buck’s wife already works). The new TV contracts are going to take effect after next season, which will see ESPN get better games than they did under the current contract, IIRC they’ll be included in flex scheduling as well to get better games later in the year, and eventually a pair of Super Bowls on ABC.
