Oblivion is one of the Prime games this month. To anyone remotely interested, I'd say check it out, it's not all bad. (Considerably improved with mods, though)

Oblivion is kind of a failure as an open world game but it holds up as a non-linear adventure game imo. There's just no reason to ever go wandering in the wilderness.

FO3: After spending hours trawling through DC wandering through the Wasteland feels incredibly lonely and isolating. Even having my buddy Charon doesn't stop the feeling of the world being completely deserted. Charon's great though, he's helping out so much in fights. And in other news I found my second bobblehead

Oblivion has some pretty dang cool quests. It seems to be what you get if people design high concept quest ideas without ever questioning if they're possible in the engine and then they just force it in, so you get a ton of variety

oblivion sucks because I saved a unicorn but accidentally hit it during the fight so it was always trying to attack me. I could still ride it around but as soon as I dismounted it would go back to trying to kick me in the back of the head. It was my mount for many many hours

FO3: Holy poo poo so for this quest where I have to kill a bunch of ghoul bigots I spoke to one of my targets and it turns out there is so much more going on here! All the keys this guy wants me to get are for a fort where there's probably lots of treasure and Crowley is totally playing me so I can do his dirty work and he can get all the rewards! What the gently caress and I already killed one of them what the fuuuuuuuuuuck  Sorry Dukov. You just wanted to spend your Wasteland shagging babes and blazing up and I ruined it for you. Plus non-Speech skills also often are used for persuasion. Plus the text and dialogue for when you DON'T reach the minimum is different and often humorous. Plus there are magazines you can read that offer a temporary skill bonus, specifically to reach these minimums in dialogue. So good

oblivion had some cool quests but the only ones i still years later really remember are super jump boots, some paintings and freaky murders. mostly i remember infinity oblivion gates i dont know why i went into so so many though
