Well, at least Pinoccio had a fun 5 months of time. People fell into lifelong indebted servitude for worse deals. And is being a donkey really that bad? If you don't do stupid rebellious actions, you won't even get your ears bitten.

Donkeys rule, they work hard and are better than horses at any task other than running places quickly. They are also far more friendly in my experience.

Calaveron posted:Is performative anxiety/depression a thing? Good question. Let's find out together For a real answer - Maybe? Some people are very open about how their anxiety and depression effect their lives. Some people can play it up and joke about it and derive humor from it. And for others, laughing it off might make it easier to cope, if not easier to actually deal with.

last time: sadness for a missing owl a pervert in the shrubs. the missing owl, Tim, has been found. i think they sort of skipped ahead to the finding of owl #3, which was the fourth owl in sequence, and doubled back to find the missing one because the ray saw it and made miiiping noises.

so i just realised my own (subjective) issue with the Property of Hate. It's basically this: where the protagonist is (likely) hoodwinked into joining this huge magical adventure where she has zero agency and thus subject to all kinds of magical tropes unwillingly. I think it can be done well, but so far from what I've seen after she actually nearly dies she returns with an attitude close to "oh well, time for the next weird place to visit!" I'm still curious as to what this whole Hate Property is, the title is edgelord 3000 but the artstyle and writing are "whimsical but bad things happen". But it doesn't seem to grab me as much as, say, owlcomic (which also suffers from a protag with not much agency other than "owls loving rule")

I struggle to care about what's going on. There's some mystery but the protagonist apparently has no interest in figuring anything out so why should I?
