I have the audiobook version of the Bucks' book so I can't exactly flip to the right page, but my recollection of the way they told the story was that Cody had no direct role in the creation of AEW, was the last of the Elite to sign up, and was the only one to really seriously consider going to WWE even after the AEW offer was on the table. But I say this with the caveat that my brain is mush and I could be misremembering all of it.

But it's not like you couldn't get to Cody wrestling for the title.

I will never ever not bring up Aldis being so lovely in that match that Cody had to literally figure four his own legs because Aldis loving forgot how to put it on in the middle of the match. The match was awful, but Cody was over enough he could've gone out there and done an unboxing video and the crowd would've gone wild. I forget) hosed around in the ring? Or when Brandi was in the ring protecting Cody which was inexplicably not a DQ? All his matches are like that.

I feel like at this point everybody is better off for Cody being in WWE. Especially if Cody gets the Brock Lesnar treatment. Except for AEW Cody fans. Sorry friends. AEW outgrew him. WWE needs him (insofar as WWE needs anything other than a conga line of corporate cronyism to keep their turdstorm of a brand making bullshit amounts of green).

Buff is indeed the stuff His wife called me for info on health insurance when I worked in a call center once. I broke the rules and told her he would probably be denied due to his neck (they were notorious for denying pretty much any pre-existing condition) and she thanked me for not wasting their time.
