 I've posted about this bonehead's obsession with the bath tap before. When people stay the night I have to let them know to take the I went away for a week, so he stayed with his other family. When I got back, I thought I'd be nice and give him fresh, filtered water in his bowl. He's been high-tailing it to the kitchen every time I moved for the last two days, but doesn't eat when he gets there. I thought he was sulking about not getting wet food, but tonight I had a hunch. Took his  guess I'm back to warning people again.

A while ago I posted a couple of pics of my friend's cat and asked if it was ok to share her story here (she was abused and paralyzed as a kitten) and that the Dodo was doing a story about her. They just published it, so here it is. The look of a cat who's trapped by their cruel owner inside a prison of a house, always to be fed and pet and have somewhere warm to sleep at night, never again to know freedom and dance beneath the moon, dodging coyotes and speeding cars.  (She bum rushed the door when ai came in last night and got out, it was raining and she was outside the door meowing to be let back in 10 minutes later) Mornings where she gets to sleep in my lap are a rare treasure for us both.

I know I've said it before but our friend that has the two shepherds and the disabled cat, and a couple other cats as well, is a fantastic person. She runs dog training and behavioral clinics and only uses positive reinforcement. I think in one of the clips you can see a pool in the backyard. They just had that put in last year and it is specifically for the German shepherds. One end is a walk-in so they can jump in if they want or they can walk in and walk out. Seriously, Gracie could not be in a better situation.

My cat, Isis. This was when she was a foster I later "failed to return" to the rescue. My favorite picture of her  Her today. She's about ten years old, now. Lost a tooth, so she gets called "snagglepuss" a lot, and has that Billy Idol sneer half the time.  Our latest friend, who was supposed to keep "Dizzy" Snagglepuss company, but instead just bothers the hell out of her and the dog and the Humans, Salem.  He even throws himself out...yet never leaves.

What a coincidence - back when I still lived with my parents, we used to have a white cat named Isis. She eventually gave birth to a litter of kittens, got tired of them, and moved in with a different household down the street (I swear we treated her well). Her son Rossini, a lovable ginger tabby, was one of the best cats I've ever known. I miss him.
