NFTs are pretty close to dead loving last on the list of things you should be upset about or even care at all about.

for actual content: i put together a small list of releases that have dropped in q1. sadly, not a great list so far with two standout exceptions in -core stuff. best lp is the newest vein album. best ep is the foreign hands release. but my other two favorite albums so far include one ambient, analog synth album by a death metal band (timewave zero by blood incantation) and an electronic-pop album (rot by tennyson) kublai khan's latest ep is a strong contender for ep of q2, and i'm really looking forward to whatever jesus piece puts out this year at some point.

I really enjoy the Kublai Khan TX EP and it's my favorite heavy music so far this year, and probably their strongest project although I really like Absolute and Nomad. The Foreign Hands release disappointed me a bit, just because I was hoping the whole project would be as strong as Separation Souvenir and IMO that was the best song on there by a lot.

I've been listening to Like Moths to Flames's "An Eye for an Eye" album, which is apparently from 2013 and god drat God, drat. some parts remind me of Gojira, and then it has some From First to Last singing vibes? This entire album is loving epic. Gonna have to listen to more

Like Moths To Flames are sorta hit or miss with me, but, goddamn, when they're on, they're ON. Bury Your Pain is a top gym track. I could (and probably should) go through their discography and put together a ~20 track playlist of heaters.

The new tape from Grayscale Season is out now and, boy-howdy, it is far and away their best work yet. Hearing how much they've grown as songwriters warms my lovely little heart.
