That night we performed the rite and opened the gate.
Halfway through, I went to fix us both a coke float.
By the time I got back, he'd gone insane.
Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

Every single best Daredevil comic moment is him picking himself up from a fall that should just absolutely end someone, either emotionally or physically. He is at his best when he's at his worst.

I think most people consider the best Daredevil story to be the one where Karen Page has become a drug addicted porn star and sells his secret identity for a hit of heroin or something and Kingpin uses it to just completely destroy every aspect of his life

THE HELL IS WITH THIS ASS!?

I had a dream I was walking down a set of stairs behind Mark Hamill and we were talking about fantasy football while he tossed his lucky die in the air. At about the 3rd or 4th step from the bottom he fell the rest of the way and broke his hip. That's where I woke up.

Did he do his Joker laugh as he fell? I feel like that should have been a part of this…

I had a dream a while back I got on an elevator with Paul Simon. We nodded to each other than then it took an uncomfortably long time to get to where we were going. He said 'I always hated Garfunkle' and I just nodded. Then we got to the floor and I got off and he followed me, which was terrifying for some reason.

The weirdest quasi-nightmare I've ever had. Memorable enough to remember it weeks later.

I had a headhunter call me out of the blue this week too. I'm not really looking to move but it would be a pretty big promotion - I'd go from managing IT at one plant to managing IT at eleven and the pay reflects that, plus they're willing to give me tons of vacation and pay for my MBA. the tradeoff is it's 100% on site, the commute would straight up suck, and I'd be leaving behind an entire team I got to pick myself. I've got a second interview in a couple weeks to check them out.

How did that recruiting firm find you? Was it just a cold call based on LinkedIn or something?

I mean, I know the answer is racism, but it's amazing that they'd go after places that likely won't give as much return as, say, an upper class family with combined income of 500k that probably has some significant tax loopholes.

I don't...well I do blame them, but I get it. You have to show that you're doing something to get paid and funded.

They're not going to fund you well enough to go after the big guys or even the medium guys, so you just have to scramble around looking like you're doing something and crushing poor folks.

It's the same reason prosecutors go hard on minorities; gotta get those numbers up! It's much easier to prosecute poor people and get convictions than it is the wealthy. I'm sure it's also much harder to catch the rich cheating on their taxes.

Tragically that makes a lot of sense. Try to rake up easy targets that can't afford a tax attorney to prolong things in court. Can't think of the source off the top of my head but supposedly a dollar of spending on the IRS returns 3 dollars to government. Have to imagine better funding would diminishes these perverse incentives as well.

The IRS spends far less time and money going after the extremely poor, who cannot really contest the findings, than the super rich, who will drag out litigation forever.
