The photos are a bit crap, but was overjoyed to see that the lambs at Mudchute Farm have been allowed out into the paddocks now. Unfortunately they and their parents weren't playing ball in terms of being photogenic, being much more interested in eating whatever those bushes on the other side of the fence were than looking all pretty and spring-like, apart from this one little dude:  who had found himself a little spot to chill in and wasn't moving for anyone. For context, Mudchute Farm is on the Isle of Dogs in London, right next to the most densely-populated area in Western Europe - the contrast from this hellscape to a little farm with sheep, horses, and (for some reason) llamas is one of the few good things about living in Sao Paolo On Thames. And because someone will inevitably ask - the area is called "Mudchute" because it was the end of a chute where they dumped all the tailings from digging out the next-door Millwall Docks, and nobody bothered to come up with a better name in the intervening hundred years.

Who was the first human to decide they needed to hire llama security for their sheep? I also love the incredibly specific description of how they do this: "may draw attention to an intruder by making a startling alarm call that sounds like a rusty hinge".
