After however long its been of having a prime minister who will straight up say poo poo like " i reject the premise of your question" and "i don't accept that" i think its refreshing to have a guy that will say "yes im a little piggy please spit on me" and I think the voters of australia feel the same

How is the "Slutty Gay Beet" defamation action goiung btw?

A 40-year-old Aboriginal woman was found dead in her single cell at Brisbane Women's Correctional Centre about 1pm on 21 March. Queensland Corrective Services said there were no suspicous circumstances surrounding her death and a report would be prepared for the coroner.

Yeah let's be real, their "good" news media are probably as committed to the neoliberal project as the ABC are now, after 9 years of Liberal ratfuckery, except they've been that bad for a decade or more. Do they even have an equivalent to Crikey or even The Guardian??

And then you have their "worst" media that isn't actually Fox News - Newsmax and Sinclair group are even worse, and have much have wider reach than Sky, so I'd say they still have it worse than we do.

The UK is probably in a worse place too, their only saving grace is they have some crazy media neutrality laws that kick in during elections, but I don't fully understand how they police that. We could really benefit from something like that though.

G'day thread. I have something for you.

If/when you share this on social media (especially whoever wants to post it on Reddit!), it would be great if, as well as linking back to the website, you could also include a link to my ko-fi. This comic has been an insane amount of work and honestly kind of a massive pain in the arse over the past three years as I've had far more pressing and (personally) important things to deal with, along with assorted emotional and financial strain (as many will relate to). Unsurprisingly, getting actual money in return for the work I put into this project does a lot to un-dishearten me. Rehearten? Anyway, thanks in advance.

The main page (has a link to the new comic): https://www.chickennation.com/voting/
Direct link to the new comic: https://www.chickennation.com/voting/senate/

Ahhh, I'm so tired. Nonetheless, hope this is somewhat fun and useful. Like the original comic, there are print-ready PDFs available on the website, in colour AND black-and-white. The black-and-white pages are not just a greyscale version of the colour comic; they are specially designed for clear, cheap, everyday printing and copying, so you can make four-page booklets with a single sheet of paper.

I guess I stopped following a lot of COVID-related poo poo after Jan but I'm surprised WA is so far behind the times. I think QLD and WA both did a pretty good job, but QLD had the timing right as it wasn't really feasible to do a lot of that inhumane restriction poo poo that WA ended up pulling.

Get w/ the times WA.

Not a problem, sir

I'm sure someone explained this back when the Senate changes came down, but whats the deal with exhaustion - is it better to put in votes for parties you do not want at all, or exhaust before you reach them?

I think someone explained that it depended on if they were minor or major parties, no idea which for which though.

Exhaustion seems better if you’ve already numbered anyone you’d actually want to see in parliament (and then some, realistically.)
