Lottie’s new way with coffee may be a by product of her incessant enforced police brew-making in Wicked Things. She did her 10000 hours.

The “Don't Tit About On Ladders” sign first appeared in the sixth Bad Machinery case, The Case of the Unwelcome Visitor (the one with the Night Hero/Villain, which turned out to be a possessed Mike Savage).

I was also going to post some of Lottie 's brew-making from Wicked Things, but Amazon's new comic viewer is total poo poo and has no zoom function.

This is taking place at a time when comic books were sold on spinning racks at newstands, or anyplace else that sold magazines and newspapers, like drug stores and supermarkets. The idea of a standalone store selling comic books and comic book paraphernalia either didn't exist yet or was so much in its infancy that for your average schmoe, it didn't exist.

I'm hoping the old guy goes back in time and either saves Lisa or stabs Les.

It does sort of feel like he's doing a thing he's always wanted to and knows people have always wanted to see. Wiki says he graduated Auburn in 1974, which has him pushing 70 this year, and he more or less retired his personal blog back in December.

e: and if anywhere is safe enough to admit my involvement it's here. The Facebook group for the comic has several people in it close enough to him to check in from time to time, and he apparently wanted us to know his health is fine but as a one-man show he's taking time to focus on just the comic and IRL stuff.

Eh, the direct market started up in the 1970s, so if this was 1980- well, I could imagine Young Harry maybe not being aware of it yet but they were very much already a thing.

Don't Blink

Rarebit is an excellent comic but honestly the framing narrative holds it back. It'd be on another level if it was just strange things with no explanation. Or if it threw a curveball every once in a while, like this (great) edit.

The whole comic is Arlo imagining how things might have turned out with the brilliant and successful artist Janis if this chance meeting with Cassandra hadn't ended up with them bitterly married for 50 years instead.
