For the foreseeable future it's really just going to be the bottom 5% of use cases that are going to be affected—ones where generated imagery can be "good enough" and there wasn't much if any money flowing in the first place. Things like online avatars, powerpoint backgrounds, self-published book covers, etc. It's the areas where people are just snagging something off of Google Image Search anyway. I've already used generated imagery in those sorts of contexts, where I needed backgrounds for goofy comedy show promos that required surreal landscapes and it saved a bunch of time. But it's not like I was going to pay someone to make those backgrounds, I was just going to screw around in photoshop for an hour. I actually see it having a positive effect on the low end of the paid market, where curators who know how to use and direct the tools well will be able to make a decent amount of money curating for people with low-end needs on Fiverr or whatnot.

I'm weirdly into the spelling of Burge Kiiing. It's fun to see that when that thing is working with text it has some of the same statistical anomalies common to Markov chain techniques but in its own special way. An I is followed by an N which looks like an I so maybe I should have an I here before an N. Or not understanding to terminate an N because the beginning and end are the same.

They initially rolled it oit to all emlpoyees, family, and friends, plus a few dozen outside researchers and artists. There's a waitlist but it is over 100,000 people at this point. https://twitter.com/sama/status/1513289081857314819 They say they'll have commercial access by summer, and researcher access before then. My hope is being in the GPT3 beta means i'll be closer to the feont of the line but... Anyway id you gave a lot of technical competence you can look up running an open source diffusion model, which wont be as trained but should have roughly similar powers
