It is actually, but it's also a funny story. My FIL asked me what I wanted for my birthday, I knew he painted models and had a 3D printer so I asked for a Kirby stylus holder and sent him the model files.

He knows nothing about games, so painted Kirby green (it's my favorite color though I learned I can't see it because of my colorblindness, still I like the way it looks to me.)

Yeah, that's blood. It'll get better before the show.
So, I finally got my hands on my Steam Deck and I've been having a blast seeing what all works on it, but is there any way to actually add mods to games yet? I'm not even looking for anything like New Vegas or Skyrim; just changing the fonts in the Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters.

I don't have a Deck, but presumably all you need to do to mod the fonts in the PRs is go into desktop mode, find your installation directory, then go into FINALFANTASY[X]_Data\StreamingAssets and replace the font_en.bundle (and font_ja.bundle if necessary) files with the ones from the font mod. It's pretty simple at least on Windows.

Wow Orb of Creation is excellent, a little production value goes a long way. It feels like an incremental game in the same way that Factorio is an incremental game -- if you're ever idling or grinding it's probably because you missed some trick that can increase your production tenfold. It looks neat but I'm the kind of person who usually won't go back and revisit a game months later so I tend to avoid early access games...

The steam wishlist function is way too noisy and annoying about it though, because it also emails you constantly whenever anything goes on sale which EA games seem to do really frequently.
Like, if I want to buy a game once its development is finished and it's out of early access, I want to get one email when that happens, not thirty emails about a bunch of unrelated sales

To be fair I don't think Steam is famous for its intuitive UI. there are a lot of options tucked away behind 3 different submenus in places you wouldn't expect to find them. The email notification settings aren't that bad and I stumbled on them eventually, but stuff like that one update period where certain controller settings could only be changed by entering big picture mode was loving baffling

Yeah, part of the reason I went with an 8BitDo was because they have good d-pads. (that and for the back-paddles on the Pro 2, which have been incredibly useful in Elden Ring) Still couldn't get used to it for platformers though, years of playing emulated (s)nes games on a keyboard meant that whenever I tried with a gamepad I did way worse, so I was like why bother?

I 100%ed Celeste, Super Meat Boy and even the original Rayman with a keyboard, for reference :v:

But I'm quite happy with my 8BitDo regardless. Much like my old banged up 360 controller it works without any fuss with any game I've tried, both Steam and non-Steam.
