i don’t have anything to add except whether you can’t light proof his area any further? i’m privileged in that we can basically lock the birds in a separate room but i know not everyone can speaking of which this is my life now

I put him in front of the window so he can yell at the passers-by, but I could probably get a heavier/thicker cage cover now that I think about it.

Definitely try a darker cover- maybe a blackout curtain or some dark fleece from the fabric store. (And trying 12 hour days may not be a bad idea!)

I am pleased (?) to report that this year, Sera has taken an interest in Ozzy's plastic eggs, and will get down and roll them around and kiss-noise at them tenderly when Ozzy goes to have a drink or something, though I've yet to see him actually sit on them. I've also been in the very strange situation of having Ozzy be not really sure he likes it when Sera kisses his children and opt, for whatever reason, by coming to fuss at me about it. There was a brief moment where neither were interested and I managed to do a quick cage clean without risking being bitten and those plastic eggs were SO WARM. I described this to a friend and they told me it sounded like toddlers playing with a baby doll.
