fun thing about LN in El Salvador - lotta places with "ACEPTAMOS BITCOIN" signs have Chivo accepting dollars, never worked out the bitcoin bit and don't even know the LN bit exists. Also, LN transactions are throttled because Chivo doesn't work well enough, so they fail a lot.

a proper exchange should never have that problem, as all trades are backed on both sides and the balance sheets are always in sync crypto exchanges are not proper, of course, especially if they got hacked and lost all their reserves
