The isekai is coming from within the thread oh no Obviously being in this thread I have no taste or sense of quality, but I read what you wrote and thought it was entertaining! I think I’d personally slow roll the reveal of literal John Brown’s isekai’d soul is helping MC though. Like in the intro just allude to having two minds in one body and that it was a dear friend who has been sleeping for awhile and she’s looking forward to joining him. In chapter one, maybe let her free herself to have some agency, but slave catchers aproach. Trying to hide she finds a humble shrine in the encampment, prays, goddess intervenes and she gets book. Slams open to random page and John Brown, spirit advisor decides to make an entrance of KO’ing slavers and tests MC resolve to kill them and be worthy of him as an advisor. Maybe the MC umprompted drops “The crimes of this guilty land will never be purged away, but with Blood.” Fellis fucked around with this message at 21:25 on Apr 15, 2022 |

He doesn't have any powers, but he is there to be a mentor and teacher. As an author writing John Brown as the Doom Slayer would be amazing, but this is not his fight. 3) Unless I hosed up the writing, the MC does liberate herself in the first chapter. She was in her master's bedroom, she proceeded to kill him and then booked it from the place. 4) Currently "KO’ing slavers" is not going to happen until later in the story. These particular slavers are bad, like seriously bad they make the CSA look like goddam angels and they have been doing this poo poo for 300 years.

I kind of sped through it, so if I misread that's on me. The KO slaver's idea was more of thinking about the typical MC in this kind of thing that isn't necessarily ready to start killing people, so she gets tested with having to slaughter defenseless evil people, not that we are sparing anyone lol no
