For 20 years if you had asked me who wrote the opening song to Final Fantasy X I would have said Rammstein. I learnt today that was just a weird internet rumour from the early 2000s, presumably from mistitled MP3s on Limewire.

That does make "Dancing On The Ceiling" even more impressive. Though I'm not sure how to feel about "Hold me closer, tiny dancer". It also makes any requests to "put on your dancing shoes" simply sound unnecessarily aggressive

It seems like he wasn't necessarily "gay" the way we'd think of it today, but he really really was into being subversive, so when loving dudes was super taboo and dudes were wanting to gently caress he was into it. That one is actually about mass murder (or it was until they tweaked the lyrics from a fan song for the slasher Maniac to a dance song for Flashdance) Pre tweak one lyric was "He's a Maniac Maniac that's for sure. He'll kill your cat and nail it to the door."
