It's not just the extended/full leather. It's a different kind of leather - the M440 has Vernasca leather and the M4 has Merino Edit: https://www.bmwblog.com/2019/12/23/know-your-leather-here-are-the-different-types-of-bmw-leather-options/ As for the shifting, sport+ intentionally jolts the transmission to make it feel more like a double clutch since everyone complained that they were dropping them. It's like the fake pops from the engine - engineered to feel fast. KillHour fucked around with this message at 21:18 on Apr 21, 2022 |

Yeah there are several levels of seats, there's duraleather or whatever vinyl, then stock leather, deluxe leather (with optional massage, and ventilated) and then premium/custom We started out looking at the cheapest 5 series and quickly realized a 5 series looks like a rental car without the m sport exterior (which also gives you the three spoke steering wheel) and there's a huge jump up in quality from leather to deluxe leather. I think shadow, sport and msport line determines interior trim finish as well, and opens up additional packages. 5 series base has plastic trim and vinyl whereas a top end interior will have quilted maple with aluminum accents and leather behind it This was also a big deciding factor on getting the 7 series, with the 7 series you get the top line 5 series trim, in the base model, plus other stuff like the retractable sun shades on the rear windows. The price delta between a loaded 5 series and a base 7 is like 2-3k and double the interior volume. Also 99% of 7 series come with the m sport package installed

I've got a new (upgraded) intercooler and charge pipe, sparkplugs, and a jb4 sitting in my upstairs living room waiting to be installed in my m235i xDrive. So pumped. Next summer I'll drop in the downpipe and then I can start taking on the M2.

Pretty sure it's been that way since at least the E92, the M3 has an actually nice interior, the leather is extended and noticeably better quality than the pleather stuff in the standard E92's.

I had the FWD-based 228i Elantra Grande Latte Coupe as a loaner and that poo poo almost steered me into a line of cones when it got confused in a construction zone. I get that manufacturers have to have that to show an effort they are attempting to prevent tiktok induced crashes, but it feels like pre-alpha tech and is wildly inconsistent.

Absolutely think the mega-snoot is still horrible, current-gen 2-series with a somewhat regular grille looks better but they ruined it with the weird-arse triangles on the sides of the front bumper. Honestly nothing about the styling of the current gen BMW's makes me want to buy one, still leaning towards a last-gen M340i touring or M2 at this point (used M2C's are quite rare over here right now, seems like people are holding onto them).

What's weird is that I thought the grill on the 3.0 CLS hommage looked great, but for some reason it didn't translate to the M3/M4 like I thought it would.

It also didn't have to conform to crash test ratings or aerodynamicists. Unfortunately. Cause I agree the hommage was beautiful.
