Speaking of the Bears, they've traded down a few times today, so they'll end up with 10 picks (assuming they're done trading). Given how few they had entering the draft, that is nice, and they could use more lotto tickets.

Packers had 11 before it started.

We need more women in STEM, and by that, I mean skateboarding, television, esports, and magic.
With this many picks, it'll be absurd if Chicago isn't able to get at least one or two starters out of these last few rounds. Simple luck alone should make that pan out.

So the Davante Adams trade got us:
  • De'Vondre Campbell on a 5-year contract
  • Rasul Douglas on a 3-year contract
  • Quay Walker on a rookie contract with 5th year option
  • Christian Watson on a rookie contract

Not bad...?

A recent history of the Packers seventh-rounders:

- 2021: RB Kylin Hill (showed promise in preseason but got injured)
- 2020: S Vernon Scott (backup/special teamer)
- 2020: OLB Jonathan Garvin (backup/special teamer)
- 2019: ILB Ty Summers (backup/special teamer)
- 2018: DE James Looney (converted to TE, cut)
- 2018: LS Hunter Bradley (played 2018-2021, cut)
- 2018: OLB Kendall Donnerson (practice squad, cut)
- 2017: RB Devante Mays (cut)
- 2017: WR Malachi Dupre (cut)
- 2016: None
- 2015: None
- 2014: WR Jeff Janis (backup/special teamer, not resigned)

Well, we'll see what happens.

The Bears going with volume on day 3 and hoping that at least one of the OT picks they use pans out I guess. Not the worst move in the world.

Hoping to draft Donald Driver in the 7th. Not a guy who plays like him, but 47 year old Mr Log Dick himself

I'll admit to being a bit frustrated with the Bears Day 2 picks. Even though I love the secondary guys as prospects, I really wanted to see them invest in the offense early, but there is no denying the need at safety and cornerback. And it looks like they got two guys who should start right away.

I like what they did with their day three picks, grabbing a bunch of athletic guys who can play multiple positions and be developed. That is how good teams build an offensive line. Plus, I love that Poles turned 3 picks today into 7 picks. Poles is the anti Pace. And so far, doing it the way I would do it. Trust your board and go BPA, and get as many picks as you can.

I can't wait to see how the UDFA and the next regular free agency wave plays out.

Gute has mentioned this draft class is bigger than normal because of extra covid eligibility, so makes sense to load up on 7th rounders this year.

I also think Poles is obsessed with UDFA dudes so he’s stockpiling late picks to get dibs on the ones he likes most (and casting a wide net to maximize the odds of hitting on one)

Jesus, the training camp battles for the Packers o-line are gonna be a bloodbath.

- Bakhtiari's the only guaranteed starter at LT
- Yosh Nijman presumably has the inside track at RT, but he'll have competition from Cole Van Lanen and Rasheed Walker
- Josh Myers probably keeps his starting job at center, but he'll have competition from Jake Hanson and Zach Tom
- Jon Runyan and Royce Newman will have competition from Tom and Sean Rhyan
- Elgton Jenkins can start anywhere on the line and has proven to be somewhere between good and great at all of them

I'm going to guess a starting five of Bakhtiari at LT, Rhyan at LG, Myers at C, Runyan at RG, and Nijman at RT. When Jenkins returns midseason, he'll replace whoever the weakest performer is of that group or fill whatever injury hole has developed.

Also, score another win for the RAS board with Toure. I saw him mentioned constantly as a potential Packers target in the leadup to the draft; I never saw him attached to anyone else.

This was the original board (based off 6 RAS minimum, WR/DB size minimums, OL agility minimums), he took names off as they got drafted:

I don't think the Packers particularly care that it's well-known that they'll draft exceptional athletes over middling athletes.

Pretty sure you could hire someone to reverse engineer the drafting process of every team and get a clear picture of what they look for. I'd be surprised if teams weren't doing that.
