Gad, I hope so. "Dred Scott, but against everyone" is what we're looking at here, and the best possible outcome is that the law means nothing anymore (assuming the authorities don't act on these decisions, which, it is to laugh).
If this leak doesn't motivate enough blue voters to overcome the voting law deck-stacking the fascists have been doing the past few years, I don't like to think about the results.

Judging by the ongoing meltdown(s) in US CE, its going to hurt the Democrats more than the Republicans. People are more laser focused on punishing the Dems for not stopping this than going after the Republicans for actually doing it, so the Republicans are just gonna keeping winning and things will continue to degenerate at their accelerated pace.

US CE is in absolutely no way an accurate reflection of the country. Like at all.

Trying to extrapolate what the effects will be from it seems unwise because this is a wildly different kind of atmosphere from the actual general public

They might but I think they're smart enough to not go after losing issues on that extreme end of polling. Overturning abortion is, what, like a 55 -45 issue percentage wise? Contraception is something along the lines of 80 - 20 and even the religious rednecks don't want their 16 year old kids becoming parents. Not saying you're wrong, and obviously you know more than me having worked at PP. I just don't think there are enough of them.

Yet.

I looked at some polling and cross tabs earlier today that I posted in the CE thread. I have to think we're a long way out from pushing up against banning birth control pills or condoms.

And for all the talk about climate change and how many of these goobers believe in things like God laying into New Orleans for being dirty sinners, it's weird to me that they never consider the idea that if God DOES exist, maybe...just maybe...he's sending us a message about raping and polluting his planet through greed.

People said the exact same thing about going after Roe vs Wade. That's why the right wing punditry are making GBS threads bricks about it, they are concerned about its impact on the election.

Although almost ~50% of Americans describe themselves as pro life, ~ 80% think abortion should be legal under 'any' or 'some' circumstances. And that's a number that hasn't changed much for fifty years. The forced birth lobby doesn't care though, they see their chance and are pushing for maximalist no-abortion laws in every red state. They're sick of having to compromise with 'incest' or 'rape' exceptions.

The issue is that the 20% forced-birth voters are single-issue while the 80% are not, which is why they wield such disproportionate political power. They also vote in big numbers so they comprise a bigger share of the actual electorate. But, coming at the 80% hard like this ... it's unpredictable.
