Libs are 5 out of 10 on my local ballot. They go above Sustainable Australia (anti-immigration), Informed Medical Options (anti-vax), Liberal Democrats (I don't know what they do these days), UAP and ON.

Honestly, it's depressing to see so many awful parties.

3. ALP
4. Australian Progressives
5. LNP
6. Australian Federation Party
7. Liberal Democrats

I've never actually really looked at or followed a how to vote card, here's mine

8 - BERGWERF, Darren - Independent
3 - MURPHY, Peta - Australian Labor Party
5 - WILLIS, Damian - Liberal Democrats
2 - JOHNSTON, Elizabeth - Animal Justice Party
1 - O'BRIEN, Liam - The Greens
4 - COOMBES, Sharn - Liberal
9 - MIDDLEBROOK, Scott - Pauline Hanson's One Nation
7 - WOODS, Kathryn - Australian Federation Party
6 - IRVINE, Adrian Kain - United Australia Party

I guess it makes sense to muscle out the independents with no website or info, preferencing liberal over those candidates and *just* behind labor who will win my seat, at a margin of 3% or so currently.
LOL at One Nation last across the board for the greens, it seems. Although UAP are up there; rather vote them higher than Federation Party or a wildcard independent it seems.

TCW are not at all a reliable source & will just publish whatever rumour is floating around the press without fear of defamation. I've heard from a much more reliable journalist that this is indeed a rumour floating around the press at the moment but that there's not anything actually backing it up at present, so I would very much wait for corroboration.

they're vaguely anti-mandate (there's an old policy about preferring non-coercive approaches re: vaccination) but it's not a focus at all for them. wouldn't surprise me if some individual candidate is a crank or something but who cares, none of them are going to get elected federally, it doesn't matter where you vote for them

Kinda laughing at the Green recommendations for Hunter stuff cause there's 9 candidates but because we have a One Nation candidate, a Palmer candidate, and a former One Nation candidate that stands for coal jobs the raving loony anti-vaccine party gets floated up to 6th place and the Nationals to 4th.

I kind of hoped to see the Greens a bit more active in Fraser this election, sure the money and effort goes where the best chances are and they won’t win over Labor but it’s a little disappointing there’s nothing. I’ve seen both Labor and Liberal a few times but nothing Greens - up in one of those 8s on the map where I live.

It is a broad electorate and they may be focussing more on the south-east where the primary was much higher last time; I don’t know enough about campaigning to really know what strategy they should take but being invisible isn’t it - at least throw up some bloody signs!

They are running a 21 year old student, with a nose ring and a double barrel surname - the literal projection of what people think the Greens are. I know that’s a lovely thing to say but people still think like that, some of my family still think like that :smith:

we already know there was a second Liberal MP who harassed Miller in some way which was part of her settlement recently, just TCW has published the rumour about their identity that's floating around the press gallery at the moment without any substantiation and they have form for publishing such unsubstantiated rumours and getting things partially or completely wrong.

probably but idk, we'll see if it amounts to anything

the Greens have limited resources and are focusing all their serious campaigning on the handful of lower house seats they have a serious chance of winning. Fraser is not one of them at all, they'd be focusing on other Melbourne seats like Macnamara, Cooper and Wills that are at least possibilities of gaining real ground

group of left-ish independents running as a party for some silly reason, most prominent in Tasmania where they're backed by Climate 200 in the Senate but are still very unlikely to win a seat at all. they're kind of goofy with the "we're independents not a party" thing and a commitment to having biannual citizens' juries to help them decide issues but they're not bad (which is why they're on the Greens HTV).

in SA I would definitely throw in a vote for Xenophon (he's running as an independent) somewhere after Labor, he's likely to be at least competitive for a seat & is absolutely preferable to the Libs who it's possible he could steal a seat from

Tax reform
Work closely with economists to incorporate a flat line tax of 20% in capital cities, 10% in rural areas, with long term goals to reduce income tax to 2% - Abolish GST – Abolish Stamp Duty.

We currently pay 30% income tax then continue to pay further taxes on other goods and services. We can restructure the tax system to keep the government running operationally. Eliminating capital gains, super, fringe benefit and stamp duty will enable citizens to keep money in their pocket and encourage more spending.

also wants to replace all tax with a 2% flat tax eventually

You know the ones, with "family" or "nation" or "freedom" in their names and when you scroll down their policy lists you get to the 1488 stuff but couched in terms friendly enough to put on the morning shows.
