Pretty much, or something is clogged, or broken.

By now it's probably military lore, but it was a real thing in the '00s. poo poo leaked, just slowly, like a drop takes a minute to build up, it was running fine. Too much leak, bad. No leak, bad. Slow leak, *slaps chinook on rear end*, she's ready to mount.

Largely true for all military vehicles at the time. If a humvee didn't leak something, it was out of that fluid.
If you prefer not to join the military or go into general aviation, you can replicate this experience by owning a Jeep.

My boatfuckling experience is limited to kayaks, canoes, and other things that you can just pick up by hand and put in the water, but it seems to me like before getting out the car to gently caress around with the boat, closing both the parking and emergency brakes on the car would be important, no? And wouldn't you normally have two people (one in the car, one in the boat)?

I mean sure, if you care about stupid things like "safety" and "not putting your vehicle underwater"

I know so many people who only ever do one brake or the other when they leave their vehicle for any reason and while being a giant nerd may have something to do with it I find that baffling. One slip up in the wrong spot and something like that happens.

Well don't you know I'm caught in a trap?

There's only one brake that can be set on a car, are y'all talking about setting the parking brake and selecting "park" on the transmission?

Those are crutches for amateurs, I just use cinder block to hold the brake pedal down.

I would also hazard a guess that that vehicle is not rated to tow that boat, maybe the parking pawl went out?

But yeah, foot on the main brakes, set parking/e-brake, THEN put it in park or gear if it's a stick, turn vehicle off. If you have 4wd, put it in 4 and lock the hubs in before you start backing down.
