This is the weather pattern I’m considering if I don’t go for a new clean look.

Get a clean one. You can scuff it up yourself bashing racists in Target while you fight your way to a hard-to-find GI Joe

That’s how I’m leaning. Start clean and ramp up the wear myself.

I have the metal and plastic shields from Hasbro and they’re all quite nice. The metal one is obviously the nicest of the bunch. Not sure how much it goes for nowadays.

I got the metal one and promptly returned it. The paint job was atrocious. (The shield itself felt nice, though.)

I love Final Wars so much. It is the Godzilla movie that you can put on for people who aren't into Kaiju movies and they will love watching.

It's the monster that turns into King G

It's probably my least liked Godzilla movie just cause I can't vibe with the insanity of it all and it has that reek of 2000's plastic mess to it but the kaiju action is insanely fun. And seeing some of our faves get modern updates is fun.

FUNKO POPS COLLECTION

I first watched it before I was into Godzilla because I heard that the guy who made Versus had made a Godzilla movie. Final Wars makes a lot of sense when you know that the guy who made it got a chance to direct a Godzilla movie because he made a movie for 50 bucks about guys in the woods having kung fu battles with superpowered zombies and it was a surprise hit

Final Wars is great, but the only thing holding it back for me is my least-favorite Godzilla design. He's too squinty! And the kitty-cat ears, ugh. I know that's a dumb nitpick, but it bugs me.

Otherwise, tons of fun. Don Frye, the two buff Zen guys watching Godzilla, the dumb Matrix motorcycle fight, Monster X, Sum 41...movie has it all!

Holy poo poo I didn’t know that. I watched Versus a few months ago in the throes of an extremely potent edible and it owned. The connection seems obvious in hindsight.

Has Not Actually Done Cocaine
going through the Knock-Off Collector page I linked earlier reminded me just how many cool and ridiculous KO/Bootlegs are out there, too many to post here, so I'm going to borrow from one of his posts and share what he considered the 10 best skull/skeleton related KO figures(since we all know Skeletor is the best part of MOTU);

Dethlor from Speclatron

Jewel Thief and Skullman from Remco's Conan and Warrior Beasts lines respectively

Crossbones & Ribs from Remco's Pirates of The Galaxseas

Skull Force

Underworld Warriors

Nightmare Warriors

Herr Bones from Flexatron

Reaper from Ninja Assassin

Iron Jaw from Cosmic Cowboys

Satana from Combo/Combo Hero/Wrestler

Dethlor, Satana, Iron Jaw, and all the Remco guys would be exactly the kind of thing I'd love to see MOTU Origins do if they were to continue to add in more non MOTU lines besides Sun Man in the future

I’ve never been into He-Man, but I would kinda love to have these just to make silicone moulds of them for stuff.

The prices are nuts though, does anyone make bootlegs of these bootlegs?

The answer is yes but said bootlegs of bootlegs tend to be either even cheaper and crappier in quality than the originals, or hard to find artisan products made in very small production runs, both often for pretty absurd prices too

I have played around with that New Eternia "viking" He-Man figure a little, the first Masterverse figure I have messed with, and it's good but not great. He came with a lot of frozen joints that took a lot of work to break out, and the double-joint articulation is ugly and not that functional; it bothers me that his arms can't straighten all the way. The way his loincloth is flared forward it doesn't really look right unless he's in a crouch. I know the crouch is kind of the classic He-Man pose but if they're going to do a buttload of articulation it would be better if that translated to more display options. The helmeted head has the eyes and eyebrows painted slightly off to one side and it looks pretty bad.

These are nitpicks, and I don't hate it. I know there have been some gripes about Masterverse figures having too skinny a build, and I'm not seeing that here. He definitely looks beefy. The sculpt is cool and the paint is mostly clean. Nice accessories. I'm sticking with the classic He-Man look sans helmet and pauldrons for now, but I like that he has these options for a different look, even if the helmet head is painted slightly wrong. His regular head looks perfect.

I don't know how widespread the QC issues with the helmeted face might be; they only had one of this guy at the store I found him at, and none of the other figures from the wave. Hoping to find the Skeletor to match soon.

I was more excited about the anniversary He-Man until I saw images with that terrible dark wash on the body. If I happen to find one that looks reasonably clean I might pick it up, or maybe I'll try to remove the wash with some kind of solvent? Anyway I haven't seen that guy in the wild yet, just a lot of really disappointing online images.

drat UPS delayed my sixth scale R2 to today.

I did get a new Star Wars friend yesterday tho:

It is far and away the best 1/12 Luke figure out there. The likeness is even better in person and he articulates so smoothly. I wish the wire on his cape weren’t so rigid, as it looks bad for more neutral posing. But I already had a great custom cape, so no biggy. Can’t recommend this guy highly enough.

Also was lucky enough to get through the ShopDisney site and grab these:

Ahsoka’s white sabers from Rebels and Mandalorian. They were released once before, but retired. Now they were re-released in special packaging limited to 6000 worldwide. The box is fancy and plays The Force Theme, but I just wanted the sabers. Will go well with my RotJ Luke saber and my custom Galaxy’s Edge one.

I *never* get lucky on sales like these, and they’re already going for like $900 on eBay. Even crazier, they went up and shipped on the same day!

ShopDisney. Looks like it’s still in stock.

I initiated a return on mine, she was missing the skin paint apps on her arm. Disney is sending me a new one and asked politely that I donate the one I have. I like that kind of customer service.

I just got a tracking number for this too.

I was sure I was going to get it canceled by Disney because my order only went in at like 10:21 after spamming add to cart on the sold out page. Then when I did get it in my cart, I got booted back into the queue.
