there's a few separate things here: * when ibushi got pneumonia, he did want to wrestle through it, but the office (specifically one guy he has heat with per lanza's report, this kikuchi fellow) vetoed it * when ibushi had his shoulder issue, the office wanted him to be back for wrestle kingdom, but ibushi, somehow, was smart enough to recognize this as a bad idea, and told them hell no * however, he did feel ready for the new japan cup, but then this kikuchi fellow apparently heard a doctor make a hm noise and went "nope no youre not cleared!!" and ibushi was pissed about that (his tweet about his shoulder only being at 65% was apparently a work to cover for o-khan challenging him in a promo and not wanting it to seem weird that he wouldn't do it) lanza's report goes into a lot more details, some of which do get weird (kota has heat with taka/taichi/kikuchi as a crew, but did show up for JTO?), so i imagine more will get ironed out, but so far the injury stuff isn't contradictory afaik

Kota Ibushi turned down a very lucrative contract several years ago to go do that weird street wrestling thing instead. He's probably set for life and he's in high demand, but he's also kind of a weirdo loner so he's going to do whatever the hell he wants. If a company's rules don't mesh with his personal ones, he knows he can work just about anywhere else and most other places would bend over backwards to have him.
