Some of Rikku's Mixes are quite strong; the problem is, you either have to do a ton of experimentation or consult a guide in order to figure out which item combinations have what effects. (Though in some cases it's fairly intuitive--fire-damage item + fire-damage item is likely to give you a large-amount-of-fire-damage Mix.  ) Still, if memory serves, Rikku is the only character who can actually be used to beat the game solo without ever touching the Sphere Grid. Use and Mix are pretty handy. (And Steal, of course, often gets you things that can be used with Use and Mix.)

In particular, there is a broken combination, which makes one character do 9999 damage for the rest of combat. This also applies to multiple hit attacks. Of course that gets vastly outclassed by the late game.

Maybe because it is because she joins properly so late and the developers were concerned you wouldn't "bond" with the character, but Rikku seems so much more expressive than everybody else in her movements and body language. Not just in the "young and excitable way", either - her body language at the Farplane and when she talks about the Thunder Plains at the end of the video just seems so much more. Which feels really odd when everybody else defaults to upright and stoic.

Seymour making his "keen to the scent of the Farplane comment" followed by Gooba& immediately going over to sniff Auron is one of the top Dorky Gooba& moments. Man just has no social skills. The supposed resemblance between Chappu and Gooba& is presumably mostly the product of Wakka's grief. The guy saw a blitzball-playing stranger of more-or-less the right age wash up onto the beach and decided to do some projecting. (Though I guess their faces might look sort of a little similar?)

They haven't left the island since Chapu died, so this is the first new face they saw since then. By the time they went on the boat and saw a bunch of other faces which looked just so much like Chapu they felt to embarrassed to admit it.

According to OBS and Voicemeeter, there's almost no game audio actually being recorded, while our mic is completely maxed out. This... Clearly isn't the case. That plus the new couch set up has made the audio really weird to try to control Let's Play Final Fantasy X Episode 23 - Get The Hell Off The Field Rikku is currently trapped in the Kimahri Zone of stats

To be fair, Chappu does not benefit from the "Main Character" model treatment. Also, Gooba&'s appearance varies depending on what plane of existence he happens to be in at the moment (in-game model, important in-game cutscene model, cg cutscene model, PS2 models of all the previously mentioned models, HD re-release models of the previously mentioned models, beta version Gooba& with special edition dark hair that looks more like Chappu's). But yeah, shuffling people in and out to make sure every does at least one action is probably the most tedious part of leveling in this game. Especially when they're under-strength -- normal enemies are a lot harder in this game than most Final Fantasy games. edit: you're probably way past this area already, but since it applies to a lot of places in the game: since there's elemental themed areas, don't underestimate the Nul* spells! I had never heard of this until now. I looked it up, and given how little it matters (slight variations in who talks during some cutscenes) I actually kinda like it. It's a minor touch that makes the script have whoever you talk to most talk to you. Spider Rikku is fuckin weird. It's strange to me how anime this game gets sometimes. Also, I wonder if there's a special conversation clip if you teach her a Thunder spell and have her use it. If you guys have the right Key Sphere when her grid goes near Lulu's, you should dip over and try it out.

Rikku getting wrecked after darkball failed, then wrecked again before her get up animation was done was fantastic. Just remember, someone thought this was a good idea. They presented it to the team, the team agreed, the testers thought it was fine. A giant train of failures brought us here, to the lightning fields that never end.
