Sunny has been keeping me company while I work from home, picking her flowers from the garden distracts her from chewing my mouse cord for a little while. I'll be switching over to Bluetooth ones after she inevitably kills my current one with her fiercesome beak.

A - Why does that breed always look so pleasantly, cartoonishly insane?

B - Why has that book managed to not be insta-shredded?

Buddy the Birdy is apparently a two year old rescue with literally nothing known about his background.

I maintain he was kept near an ancient dot matrix printer.

My wife recently got a few budgies and cleaning all the toys/perches/etc. takes a bit, but I was wondering if there is any that are dishwasher safe? Also I was thinking about making some toys, perches, etc out of wood/trees we have laying around or from our yard.

But I was wondering if anyone knows of better ways to connect them to cages? I found some wood screws with threaded ends I can screw into things and just use a wingnut / washer to connect them to the cage, however I was wondering if anyone has found something easier/faster? Possibly splitting hairs here however.

Wingnut/washer is the standard in pretty much every commercially produced perch type thing I've seen fwiw.

That's what I use to make my own perches; wood screw on one end and metal thread for the nut/washer on the other. They call them "hanger bolts" for some reason.

Stained, dirty, smells like weed, possibly a relic from the sixties.

Pretty much all of the plastic and metal bird stuff is dishwasher safe. Wood, leather, and fabric are pretty universally not. Air dry, or at least as far away from the heater coil as you can place them.

Hanger bolts are pretty standard for things that attach to cages, so you're already on the right track. Particularly narrow perches tend to split with those, though, so they'll have a notch cut in each end to hold it in place with just tension. Budgies will summon enough rear end in a top hat bird energy to knock these loose, when the mood strikes.
