Stuff like the EMA is kinda genius since it's basically codifying the genre conventions that Venture Bros both uses gleefully and makes fun of, in a 'that explains a lot' way and also matches pretty well to how they write combat, where sides are usually at least nominally evenly matched enough to make the fight interesting unless it's an obvious mismatch and that's the joke. Though it is something they seem to have been hinting at for a while, given you have the gang bangers who get complained about for using overkill weapons for their authorisation (and really also says something that using real guns is over halfway up the EMA scale) and the Monarch vs JJ, where a Voltron riff is considered overkill but a giant death ray is acceptable, even if it's just considered a more plausibly deniable way to kill the Monarch. (and that's still exactly what the Monarch was counting on)

Though it'd be a great irony if it was based on the Joy Can.

The human animal is a beautiful and terrible creature, capable of limitless compassion and unfathomable cruelty.
It's also why Brock is allowed to mass-murder Monarch henchmen early on- because the Monarch counts as a high-level EMA even though his henchmen are actually just mooks.

Gaming it implies that's the reason, when he seems to have more personal reasons. Do we ever find out why he doesn't like using guns? Like I get aesthetically it's cool and melee Brock is awesome but he has to have a backstory reason beyond it looks cool, or does he? He is Brock. I just don't think it could be that simple though.

I think he just doesn't like to use guns to be more badass. He did look for one under Hatred's security desk and I'm pretty sure he used a sniper rifle at some point.

https://screenrant.com/venture-bros-movie-update-details-patrick-warburton-response/

Not much info, but Warburton has finished recording lines.
I assume the animation is done after lines are recorded for sync?

The article is needlessly long, here's the bits.

TLDR posted:

Yes, so I've already recorded. At this point, I'd even be at a loss because sometimes you go and you record your material, so as far as the whole concept of this movie that they just did, I would not do a good job describing it right now. So we're just gonna have to wait and see. I'm glad we got to do it. There are a lot of disappointed fans that this is it. The Venture Bros. has been a long, sort of tiresome road producing the series, it's a new season every, what, two years maybe.

I don't think that or because of those orders ever made things easy for the creators of the show, but they did well with it. I think that's why, too, having that time they were able to keep it creative and interesting and make it the quality show that it is, because they were never rushed. In a lot of shows, they're rushed and you got to keep producing and producing and producing and sometimes you see a lack of quality therein. With the Venture Brothers, they always had the luxury of time to put together an interesting series with cool story arcs and whatnot."

I'm just in a total state of zen when it comes to the movie. These guys have never let me down, they always make the most of the time available to them to make a quality product, and this is the swansong to the whole series so you know they're going to be firing on all cylinders. No matter how long the movie takes to come out you know it's going to worth the wait when it arrives.

Has Not Actually Done Cocaine
Had a dream about a nonexistent episode of the show, the A plot was a pretty standard "Rusty and company meet another Super Scientist who seemingly has his poo poo more together than Rusty" type of thing though it did have the interesting twist that it was set in the past, like Hank and Dean were clearly kids(it's interesting that in spite of how much the show loves flashbacks we've seen pretty much nothing of their childhoods between being infants and whatever point in their early teens they started dying), the B plot was a more interesting one about Billy & White trying to be door to door salesmen that involved Billy using a disturbingly convincing disguise as a normally sized woman that they apparently made "by desecrating an antique"(my dreaming mind clearly was just borrowing/modifying one of Monarch's lines from the trial episode from Season 1, but my waking mind has decided that Pete clearly took home some of the "Leslie-Bots" from the Mike Soriyama episode for "reasons" and ended up using the parts for this scheme, considering neither Pete or Billy are robot specialists this probably results in all sorts of comedic mishaps) and also Billy being reassured that their potential customers "probably aren't legally allowed to maim or kill us"(maybe they're doing this in Malice or something but have official permits from the Guild to do their peddling)

Not the first time my dreaming mind has come up with an episode for a show I've watched but this is definitely one of the more coherent ones and feels like the skeleton of an actual episode

But your B plot can't happen with the A plot if it's in the past, the Leslie Bots wouldn't exist yet. You could mash this into something that works
