china's soft power in terms of international media is quite pitiful all things considered. i mean you're not going to accomplish what took the u.s. decades to do overnight, but they dont even have any decent propaganda like RT/VoA/DW/France 24. also they should study the master, jimmy carter. so good at expanding soft power that to this day "both sides" praise/hate him for being a dove with his duplicitous warmongering

there’s a book that came out recently called Red Carpet about how China is using old Hollywood techniques to grow their soft power and kickstart their blockbuster movie industry, I haven’t read it yet but a friend who is really into studying soft power and propaganda told me it was good. the summary on Amazon makes it sound very anti-China though so idk if I feel like reading through that
