the reason it was disallowed is because the population of this site used to be large enough that thousands of goons viewing the same GBS thread was enough bandwidth usage to knock smaller sites offline. this, uh, hasn't really been an issue anymore for several reasons

That and most sites these days are hosted in bulk at data centres with massive bandwidth allowances rather than small time providers or people's personal computers.

Honestly probably not that many? He's a comic hero so his enemies tend to be characters you're not meant to pity. He's turned a bunch of kids way younger than Arf into homeless orphans though.
