Another manga I was reading recently basically died because the scanlator group had like sixty chapters in reserve but weren't going to typeset or release them unless they got donations. But on the other hand someone picked up Witch Maintenance manga. The scanlations, they giveth and they taketh away.

Yak of Wrath posted:Also, Karappo no Shoujo to Niji no Kakera is promising In a sense it actually reminds me more of classic shoujo isekai like escaflowne or fushigi yuugi with the lead stumbling into a foreign world, getting caught up in the local problems & promptly taken in by the cool fighty boy who appears gruff but actually has a heart of gold, but instead of being a sweetheart everygirl she's just insanely depressed Its takes on depression and abuse did strike me as fairly shallow, but every time I fear it orbits a little too close to "you just gotta realize your life does have value!" platitudes it introduces some wrinkle that potentially makes things a lot more interesting. I can't yet tell how capable it is to committing to those wrinkles & satisfyingly exploring their implications, so idk, guess I'll just keep an eye on this one.

My DMV is in a strip mall that contains the only jewish deli for maybe 25 miles, a basic sit-down chinese place and the equivalent of a Marie Callender. Across the street is a decent Mexican food place next to a quaint bakery. I'd trade all of that for a nice curry place that had pork cutlet or shrimp for less than $10.
