First of all, its Zenz. Second, that doc definitely got passed around in editing form (not jpg form) in many different computers that didn't installed proper mainland acsii codes. But is it possible the government mainland PC also didn't have proper simplified fonts? Yes that's also possible, mainland has a lot of bootleg Win XP and Win7 one-button installed images.

I found out a bunch of poo poo about rice recently, like rice is really fickle and all sorts of poo poo that you wouldn't think about impacts the rice yield and texture. Like the humidity when it grows can have a massive impact on it even when you're just hulling it; if the humidity is too high or low you'll crack the rice

the wiki page on the father of hybrid rice had some great rice facts also I learned this a while back but have always thought it was cool that rice farmers growing it in water isn't a necessity, it's just that rice can grow in water and it makes pest control way easier. amazing. what a good plant.

All I know is that Cadillac Desert went on about how salt is a huge problem and was probably responsible for destroying some civilizations. Salt builds up over time in the soil, if not properly managed. Eventually this will ruin crop yields and then we'll you're out of food. Today that applies to all the other elements and chemicals included in fertilizer, and it's a big problem for farming in USA and other areas.
