Big day for the Tennis Thread today! At the moment, Novaxx Dkocovid is playing Diego Schwartzman, an Argentinian with a German last name. Sadly Novaxx is winning, and he also hasn't suffered a career ending injury yet. I just tuned in for a sec, saw him berating someone in the stands, and zapped away. We also have Alexander Zverev playing Bernabe Zapata Miralles, a qualifier. We all hate Zverev so let's focus our energy again on him losing. I would really appreciate that. There's also Rafa "Rafa" Nadal playing Felix Auger-Aliassime. Well, it doesn't matter how many titles Nadal still wins because he will never be the GOAT. Thread favourite 🤩 Carlos Alcaraz 🤩 is also playing today! I want him to win everything. He's playing Karen (lol) Kalashnikov from the country that shall not be named btw.

At this point I’m pretty sure Djokovic plays much better when the crowd hates him. vaccine refusal was a 900 IQ play to get everyone to hate him before the circuit.

Yeah the top half of the men's side has gone to seed so far, the bottom half is way more open for anyone to make the final. On the women's side it would be awesome to see Fernandez or Gauff in a final vs Swiatek, but similarly the bottom half of the draw is wide open, I wouldn't be suprised to see any of the remaining 4 make it to the final.

This is a silly question, but I don't know where else to ask it: I recently cleaned out my childhood home and brought back a big box of unlabeled VHS tapes. One of them has the 1998 Family Circle Cup women's singles tournament on it, complete with commercials. It's NBC's coverage. Is this something worth preserving and uploading to archive.org or youtube or something? I know nothing about tennis.
