But I hate how characters always go for the most boring cookie cutter questions when confronted with some form of all knowing being. I'd defo want to know if I got a few things right but I also imagine Allison has death on the mind atm

People keep saying Jadis is in pain, maybe she exists in an infinite point in time. It could go beyond just knowing, but experiencing everything at once as well.

I wonder if this isn't really Jadis and it's just the machine. Like Jadis used the machine and then became the crystal cube lady who died fighting Jagganoth. The thing talking to Allison is the memory of Jadis stuck in the machine's Ram cache.

Doesn't have to be a memory, it could be a form of recording. If she can see the entire future, then she can have conversations with people after her death and record replies based on what they're going to say. Depending on how set in stone the future is, Jadis can then brute-force her replies to lead people to whatever course of action best benefits her schemes.

That does lead to the possibility that Jadis as we see her now is the villain part of her timeline, and that perhaps her entombment self is her after some different revelation that things are gonna go off the rails.

I am in camp 'Jadis is very much dead already'. I like the idea that knowing the future she prerecorded her holographic/mental projection to show Allison what she was always going to see. They open up the machine and find OG Jadis's body just a desiccated husk on the inside, and just unceremoniously huck her out and put Allison in the

After the last volume, I'm half expecting Operant to slam on the gas unannounced and unexpected like, we were just handed 180 plus pages with an accelerating plot so gloriously intense that it can best be characterized as a pair of flaming tire tread marks scorched into the asphalt and crashing into the climax so hard that it burst through that climax into another climax four or five times before finally killing two gods, locking a third and fourth into Literally God Knows What The Actual gently caress That Was, and introduced us to Universe Machine which is apparently able to translate the shape of the word "I."

There's definitely gotta be something going on with it, because otherwise why not project brainghost to the meetings of the demiurges instead of existing as an incoherent icecube? Why make her lackeys constantly be struggling to transcribe and interpret prophecies?

Why make her lackeys constantly be struggling to transcribe and interpret prophecies? That implies that Jadis has the ability to choose anything. The last decision she made was to turn the God Machine on. After that, every event in her existence, every word, mannerism, and thought has been preordained. Her lackeys struggle to interpret her pronouncements because that is how it is supposed to happen. It cannot happen any other way.
