WJSN won Q2, edging out Loona. If Loona had been given points for round 1 they would have won, drat covid. Final stages were all really cool though and WJSN went all out.

Cool. It's still dumb. People that aren't American (me) want artists to tour places preferably within a 10 hour flight range of them when announcing a 'world' tour. Shouldn't really be difficult to understand that people complain when they are disappointed.

So if they didn't call it a "world" tour, would you still be upset? Lol.

It is perfectly fine to want more tour dates that hit more countries, its an issue that effects music in general for a variety of reasons. I'm just saying that complaining because they called it a world tour is silly. As a comparison, I still don't really like the nomenclature of using "comeback" when it is just the latest release, but that is what the kpop industry uses so no reason for me to actively complain about it.

In other news, classy released another MV: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTs7GNrs5_o
This is basically right after their debut song promotions finished so I'm unsure if they're promoting this on shows or not.

Any release is a comeback-- though I guess you could specify promoted ones? It's just an English loan word w/ a different meaning in kpop, at this point.

Yea its just used as a loanword to mean "latest release", it doesn't have any connection with the length of time between releases or any other delays/issues a group could have.

From a quick looking around this is a solo release before their group release, dunno if its a financial or health related delay as the company is definitely a smaller one. She's been in a group or two that didn't take off looks like. Overall I liked the track, MV feels lower budget but not cheap if that makes sense.

e: pixy comeback soon, kard and tri.be are rolling out some stuff so I'm thinking they're having stuff soon as well.

The Wonho track is very much a Wonho track, which is to say, it rules.

But that woo!ah! Track absolutely bangs. In fact, it bangs so hard, it made me go back through their title tracks that I largely dismissed or disliked on first listen with a new appreciation for their sound, and I am now officially a fan.

That is a very brunt and honest talk about the industry and where they're at as artists. Hope the best for them all, and I can't help but wonder if looming enlistments aren't playing a big part in this decision. This isn't going to be a short hiatus.

I've been a woo!ah! fan since last year and it's good to see them doing well now with 19k first week sales. 10k for Secret Number is good as well, I was worried they might have been edging towards disbandment. Maybe actually performing in front of people is going to help everyones sales now.

That BTS video was more honest than I was expecting, they sound super over being idol group members at the moment. I imagine at this point there probably is a lot of intent to do further group activities in the future ala Shinee, but it's impossible to predict if that will pan out because members might realise they actually prefer not doing the group thing and they eventually part ways. It's sort of funny though that for the last couple of years there's been the subset of fans that say the music was better in the past, but then they always got shouted down by stans, and then RM just comes out and basically says the same thing.

A new boy group just debuted with four real members and a fifth CGI one. It (he?) looks fine in some shots, then jarring in others, especially in group choreos where the jerky animations clash really noticeably with the real life movements.

Loona comeback doesn’t hit hard enough for a title track but I still like it. Pale Blue Dot is great too, but the studio version of Playback is the real star.

Attention is Kep1ers best song by a mile, so good!

New LOONA is fine. Most of their songs occupy a weird place where I don't find any of them amazing, but if I'm just listening to a random playlist of songs I notice them as loona songs.

I've decided that I quite like the latest pixy track as well. It isn't my favorite, and there are some things I think I would have liked to have seen different, but its a good song. Importantly, they wrote a song that is missing Ella, and didn't write a song where they had other members cover her parts. So its still a pixy song, but has a different vibe and I think it works really well.

I didn't hate the lapillus song, but it does feel a bit like their company is trying too hard without quite grasping why that style of group works for the groups its working for.

I liked the kep1er song more than their debut, and it has some great bass line stuff. Fits into the same sound profile, but the "brighter" parts of the song are way toned down compared to wa da da and it works a lot better I think.
