It’s not that; at least not directly. The Republicans in Ohio want to gently caress those kids. Full stop, do not pass go, that is the goal of these pieces of poo poo (in this state and numerous others).

Their next logical step toward enabling that is to require young — very young — girls to submit to sexual assault. It’s literal grooming. The fact that they get to blame their trans boogeyman, and the fact that this helps them deny rights to people who aren’t straight white Protestant men, is just a bonus.

This is actually interesting because I just started listening to a new podcast called Dear Old Dads where they talk about parenting from a non-religious and progressive stance. In the second episode, one of the hosts tells a story about how the same thing happened to him.

Is that what turned Eli around? I'll have actually listen to his podcast now...

Yep, it was Eli. The first three episodes have been really interesting. All of the guys have different backgrounds and the variety of experiences and how that has shaped them is compelling.

He's not getting rejected, though. Twitter really wants the deal to go through because what he's offering is way above what their shares are trading for now. The issue is that Tesla's stock is also pretty far below where it was when he made the offer, and if it falls much further he's going to have to sell a pretty fair amount to secure more cash for the deal. It's a pretty big loss, so he's frantically looking for a way out.

(a very special lol for the fact that they got their parents to chip in on all this, presumably unaware that six thousand american dollars would be spent on TWO separate sessions in which mute deadeyed felted men take pictures with your 30 year-old children)

How many usually attend weddings in your region/family? My parents generation all had huge families and you cant invite one cousin and not the next, so we struggle to even find a venue large enough. Thankfully we're only looking at maybe ~120 that are actually attending now compared to the amount of invitations that went out. But at nearly $45 a plate...

Its kind of a toss up whether feeding people is more expensive than an open bar or not.

I mean, a lunch wedding or a wine and cheese wedding or even a punch and cake and coffee wedding is fine. You just don’t give people zero food and drink and make them look at you cavort with mascots, that’s dumb.

Or have a courthouse wedding/chapel elopement and be done with it.
