This is really heartwarming. Cena and Dwayne Johnson get a lot of flack for making cornball movies and being mediocre actors, but I love how much they give back to the community and work with sick/disabled kids. Just great dudes.

The Rock was genuinely funnier in the Jumanji movies he was in than Robin Williams was in the original.

Peacemaker really let Cena flex his acting muscles, and he did a drat fine job of it.

Reminds me of how Griffin McElroy did a comedy video series where he "reviewed" amiibos by how well they fit into his mouth. He ended up quitting the bit after someone told him their kid loved the show.

The top turns right if it's clockwise and left if it's counterclockwise, this is true no matter how you're oriented.

It's moving in a rightward direction across the plane it moves on. You're being intentionally obtuse.

But why is the top more important that the left, right, and bottom? You rotate a knob or dial or whatever counterclockwise, and it, y'know, rotates. The extent to which a part of it could be said to be 'moving right' is canceled out precisely and exactly by the parts of it moving left, it's the exact same logic.

I dunno about that person, but I'm legitimately not. My mother told me that as a kid, and it was actual years before I could parse what it was supposed to mean. My best guess even now is that most languages in use are read top to bottom, left to right, so people to whom the saying makes inherent sense are starting from an invisible point on the top-left of the knob.

I mean yeah I guess most people start at the top, especially since 12 (which indicates the beginning of a new set of hours/day) is at the top and moving 'past' it is the way time moves naturally, to the right.

I wasn't, but thanks for being dismissive I guess.

Like I've talked to people who didn't understand the saying specifically because they didn't use the northernmost point looking from above as a reference point. Thinking about it now, I also remember having to actually think through the saying in high school auto shop because sometimes I was reaching towards a bolt from the underside of the fixture.

It begins to spin.

You look up. It is spinning clockwise.

You look at the walls. They are moving left.

Top of the wheel goes left.

Ship goes left.

Cameron got this right. That’s just how ships were for centuries.

Today the command would be given as “Hard left rudder.”
