Someone post the video of the Silverado (?) where a Corvette full-stop loving disappears in front of it at a stoplight and he has to use the forward camera.

I was driving a ‘05 tahoe and stopped at a light, but a little bit over the line and traffic from my right was gonna have a hard time getting around me to the lane.

I checked the mirrors, all three - nothing for miles. Empty. Zilch. Nada. Nobody was behind me.

Put it in reverse, start to creep back, did i hear a beep? Was that a car horn?

Did you know a c5 or c6 corvette can tuck right up behind a 05 tahoe and be invisible in the mirrors?

Fella was trying to read over my shoulder or something.

No harm, no foul. He was real pissy though.

Taught me that if i cant see the driver in their mirror then they cant see me, and i position my car so its more visible to everyone else in their canyonero now.

Ask me about Derek Carr's stolen MVP awards, those dastardly refs, and, oh yeah, having the absolute worst fucking gimmick in The Football Funhouse.

A lot of companies started going that a while ago so they could increase parts sharing between engines. Pretty much any 90° v6 is based on a v8.

It looks like there is an insert you replace to control the number of cylinders and the bore. Which ok makes sense from a manufacturing cost prospective but we know that insert is going to fall apart just after the warranty is over and cause the engine to be scrapped.

Yeah, but I don't think the old Merc V6s or the 2.9 in the Alfa QF use the same block as their V8 counterparts.

Yeah I wonder how far they go to "blank" those two cylinders. It sort of looks like the filler is just part of the header. Can V8 headers fit on the V6 block? I have to imagine they do something significant to make it less easy than that, but never underestimate what a capitalist will (or won't) do to save a penny on manufacturing if they think they can get away with it. It reminds me of how there were lots of RAID disc controller cards back in the day where the difference between a cheap RAID 0/1 card and a much better card was removing a capacitor.

Based on, yes, but they don’t usually use the *same actual block*.
GM 4.3L is literally 3/4 of a small-block Chevy, but it’s also one cylinder shorter. Same deal with Buick 3.8L vs Buick V8.
That thing is a V8 with two holes unmachined/unfilled. I guess the crank has an empty throw, too.

Apparently, they "solved" the steering problem by just selectively-applying brake pressure between the left and right side (I wouldn't be surprised if this contributed to one of the driveshafts making GBS threads the bed halfway through the video).
And in a way that "almost" makes my previous post weirdly prescient, they decided to...launch the loving thing off a mountain to its demise.

Once again, no German skills needed, just turn on the subs and watch a bunch of kids yolo a tracked Tesla around an off-road-park and collect the flying springs in the aftermath :stare:

I worked at a Honda, Oldsmobile and Lexus dealer as a tech back in the day and we were too drat busy to try to rip off anyone. These were separate places.

But I’ve been lied to, cheated and disrespected so many times I’m afraid to take anything anywhere. The only shop I trust is down the street they let me install a lift on a van with some help when ingot stuck as a favor. I need something done I can’t confidently do on my own, they can’t and for a million bucks they can’t tell me anywhere to go. A neighbor has a shop that works on fedex and ups trucks and semis and he is going to do it - I trust him honesty wise without question I just don’t know if this will take 2 weeks or 2 months and if I didn’t live down the street no way he would do it.

I have lots to say about vinwiki and tavarish I play it in the background but if these are car people no wonder I can’t stand anyone I meet

There's a reason Japanese cars went from a joke to taking over the world, and the build quality of American, Italian and British cars has a lot to do with it.

HAIL TO THE VICTORS!
I pulled up behind a Ford Ranger yesterday that had a nice retro graphics stickers on it. It looked like the Tremor graphics: https://www.kbb.com/comparison/2021-ford-ranger-tremor-vs-2021-toyota-tacoma-trd-pro/ But I'm not sure because I didn't see it say Tremor.

Anyway. On the tailgate stripes they added their own stickers across the whole back which said:

PROUDLY POWERED BY FOSSIL FUELS. NO NEED TO RECHARGE.

I was tempted to pull alongside and ask how they felt about fuel prices but I didn't want to be the victim of road rage.

B - doesn't that also mean "more for the rest of us"?

Depending on your worldview that sentence could be positive or negative. I was clarifying that this is what I hear from people that have a reflexive need to tell others they hate EVs.
