HAIL TO THE VICTORS!
I'm sure plenty of people think an electric F-150 is heresy. I went through the McDonald's drive thru the other day and the teenage boy running the window complemented my F-150 and said "At least it's not one of those bad electric ones".

I then told him mine was a hybrid and that it was faster than the Raptor. That shocked him. Not sure I changed his mind about electric cars in our quick conversation but maybe little by little minds will change.

Halfway through, I went to fix us both a coke float.
By the time I got back, he'd gone insane.
Plus, he'd left the gate open and there was evil everywhere.

That's the long term plan for mine. Basically as soon as the transmission will need a rebuild is when I'll bite the bullet and do it. What I haven't been able to figure out is if the fuel tank location will be adequate for a battery pack or if I'll have to get more inventive. 100 miles of charge would be enough for me.

After doing some more research, I will agree that EVs cause less net pollution than ICE vehicles. However, initial cost of the vehicle, the limited range, long charging times, and lack of dedicated infrastructure mean that I won't be buying one in the near future.

I think one would serve 99.9% of my needs (other than not being able to charge at my rental home). But, one thing I've been curious about and didn't look into, does the battery capacity drop over time like it does in, say, every phone and laptop I've ever owned? I'd hate to buy one that meets my needs +10% and then the capacity drops to the point where I can't take it to visit my folks. I also assume that one gets less range in the cold during winter?

I have a Model 3 that (apparently surprisingly) has performed flawlessly for the past four years, but the Elco is such an awesome car, and to have one that's quiet and with a reliable powertrain would be wonderful.

Kits to let you retrofit existing cars with electric motors. They range from drop in replacements engines, to full kits with batteries and all of the accessories. Ford offers up the motor they use in the Mach-E for instance.
