Love Sausage and there was a flaming dong at one point, and the toilet camera, otherwise no I don't think so. Spartacus had way more going on in just about any episode. (e: correction, one or two guys wandering in the background but not in a way that you would see, nowhere near as on display as naked women. Plus Termite when he pops out of the woman)

Also I wonder if Kimiko and Frenchie are going to get folded back into the main plot at some point, and if Nina and her russian mob are going to have anything to do with one of Soldier Boy's accidents. Seems like too neat a puzzle piece to not line those up.

Don't be scared
After catching up on the series I was expecting more of the "Herogasm." The season-opening scene with Termite and that dude was more shocking than anything in this party. Hell, BlueHawk's demise was way more ghastly and eyebrow-raising than the party itself.

Anyway, I did think it was funny how both MM and Butcher, separately, pointed out, "Oh Frenchie is going to be heartbroken he is missing this."

I have almost 0 knowledge of the comics, but with two episodes left this season, I have no predictions on where this is going and I don't think they're going to resolve a whole lot. Especially since season 4 has already been announced and is in development.

That said, I do feel like Homelander is the biggest wild card. He's been confirmed to have some sort of split personality and is losing his grip. Add to that, he just got his rear end beat in a fight, and suddenly his invulnerability isn't so certain. The more I think about it, it's pretty nice having unclear stakes with an almost 100% unhinged character in play. Although I really want to see what happens if SB's "depowering radiation blast" actually harms Homelander if he gets to hit him with it.

Butcher is loyal only to the cause. Everything and everyone else is up for negotiation.

It's the thing that makes Hughie loathe him for much of the early part of season 2, after season 1 ends with Butcher leaving the rest of the team behind without a second thought and Hughie ends up being the one who tries to rescue them. Then the moment Butcher needs them again he just shows up in season 2 acting like it's all good mates, and the worst part is the rest of the team just kind of shrug and go along with it.

Ashley bulling over A-train was a good reminder of the awful poo poo he's done. I don't think this episode served as his end, I'm still curious where they'll take his character.

Thought it was seriously weird how Nina disappears from the warehouse scene, I rewound multiple times to see what happened (prompting the Prime app to replay in about 5fps). There's a gun on the floor, Cherie breaks loose, knocks Nina to the ground, then gets thrown into a barrel by Nina's goon. And then at the end Frenchie's just "Nina's gone!" Felt like something got lost in the edit there.

The last few thread pages made me rethink the whole "Soldier Boy chest blast depowers supes" thing I was kind of taking for granted. I guess it's more that it hurts if not kills supes. For Kimiko, I think it was more of a Wolverine-like thing where her healing factor got so taxed, it temporarily shut down.

I dunno mate, it was background. I didn't find it titillating in the slightest. The main cast actors afaik aren't porno actors and them talking about not having worked in a situation like that sounds about right. What did you expect? Full penetration, lingering money shots?

Anyone care to speculate what they think they're doing with Homelander now?

I mean, Annie has pulled the pin on that grenade so technically he ought to be considering just wiping everyone out now, but that's clearly not the way they're going to go. They seem to be giving him a bit of pathos, and while I don't think it's possible for him to have a redemption arc i can definitely believe in a scenario where Soldier Boy turns out to be even worse than him, somehow, and that the gang need Homelander's help to get rid of him.

I just can't see the show continuing for 2+ seasons without Antony Starr. Likewise I can't see Jensen being around beyond the end of this season - unless they do something like the above - since I don't think the show can really sustain both of them.

I think soldier boy is going to end up joining Homelander but will be unable to stop exploding from PTSD. Many will be terrified that there is this uncontrollable, unpredictable supe randomly killing people but others love soldier boy so much that they refuse to stop him. The next Homelander dilemma will become "how do I get people to shut up about my new buddy who keeps accidentally killing people".

I predict: Homelander shrugs off the bad press, by going to Stan and asking for help. The boys are reunited going after the last of payback, Stan/Noir are there when they do. Stan/Noir tells them where Maeve is being held, they mount a rescue. Homelander turns up, they fight (Maeve may die), and he gets depowered, going on the run. Stan returns to Vaught, perhaps with SB to lead the new 7, with Annie, Noir, and a recovering humble A-train, the deep is cast out once more. Kimiko's powers return at some point*, and the boys realise they have an unknown (determined by plot) amount of time to find and kill homelander before his powers return and goes scorched Earth. Setting up The Boys: Season 4: The Search For John.

Victoria Nueman becomes Singers running mate for the purposes of "Healing the nation," or some such.

*Probably after she thinks the mob lady has killed Frenchie, and her rage returns her powers.

Something like this could work, I really don't think we've had enough Soldier Boy yet to lose him at the end of this season. It would set up some good drama about how Vought hasn't changed and is still corrupt as hell. And I'm pretty sure we're going to get Vic the Veep at some point as well, that just ties in nicely to the comics (though gladly not the same as in the comics).

He might not be "fling the moon out of orbit" strong, but I can't believe soldier boy or butcher were holding back their hits whatsoever. I can believe Homelander never had to actually follow through with a punch though. He doesn't know how to fight and wasn't trained, because who could hurt him? It feel like a lot of this is likely, although I'm not sure how likely a resurgent Seven is right now. How long did it take for Homelander to pretty much turn the Seven in to the Two? Vought is in a monumental meltdown right now and I can see them them trying to get Stan back on to stop the bleeding, but I'm not sure if Homelander has the humility and the smarts to realize how badly he's hosed things up. I absolutely agree that this season ends with a depowered Homelander and a recovering Kimiko.

Part of me thinks that all of these plot lines will come together in the finale, Frenchie, Kimiko and Nina will all converge with the main plotline at the climax.

I think you could interpret the choreography either way. He seemed to be taking more punishment 1:1 with SB and Butcher, but also seemed to feel it less, recover from it faster, and hit harder when he did hit, so you could peg that as superior powers compensating for less training / fight prowess.

I thought the point of the Frenchie/Kimiko scene was that Kimiko regained her powers mid-flight, to foreshadow that depowering is temporary, but no- it was just more wheel-spinning and Nina escaped so we are getting at least one more scene.

I did think it was funny that the fight starting had almost nothing to do with Butcher twisting SB's arm to do it.

Something missing from the extremely on-the-nose Trump parody they have been hammering is idolizing and bending over backwards for Putin. I could see the season ending with SB taking over the Seven and cowing HL into being his Deep, either by depowering him or threatening to.
