FrankZP did some really great LPs of Dragon Warrior 1-4. And don't miss out on the Final Fantasy Legend 1 and 2 LPs by Chokes McGee.

https://lparchive.org/Tecmos-Deception/ I remember laughing out loud at this LP back when I first discovered some... almost 15 years ago no? Not sure if it's held up since I have not reread it since then. EDIT: Giving it a quick reread and it involves a good usage of what a lot of folks these days might consider slurs. So, you know, I guess that's unfortunate. PurpleXVI fucked around with this message at 22:39 on Jun 25, 2022 |

AndroidBlues has been doing an absolutely fascinating Final Fantasy VI LP using the Beyond Chaos randomizer. All of the characters have been given new sprites, names, and movelists, and Android Blues has been remixing the story on-the-fly to work with the personalities implied by those changes. She's also been taking votes from the thread at certain major story points and everything is spinning wildly out of control. There hasn't been an update since May, but I think that might be because AndroidBlues has been tasked with redoing the opera.

StrixNebulosa posted:I'm looking for a long and hopefully complete screenshot LP to read, in an effort to keep myself distracted from the news. Anyone got any recs? I'd like Pokemon romhacks, or stuff that gets into RPG mechanics. I'm going to guess without looking that I should reread OrangeFluffySheep's stuff - but what else is out there? In the vein of the Let's Break FF6 LP, there's this LP of Pokemon Blue by Metroixer that abuses the infamous Gen 1 glitches to take the Gyms in as close to the reverse of the "intended" order as is possible, among other things. Dragonatrix/Lotus Aura has done a bunch of LPs of stuff, most notably a fair amount of MegaTen games, but the one I can really personally recommend is this LP of Persona 3 that does 100% Social Links on both FES' male route and Portable's female route. Araxxor is currently doing an LP of 7th Dragon that goes deep into the mechanics, including huge effortposts on each class and even datamining the game to get exact numbers for certain mechanics. The sequel is currently being LPed by Kinu Nishimura (with a lot of custom art!) and Araxxor is doing a lot of the same effortposting there. I'm gonna stop here for now because I'm at work, but hopefully this will be a good start!

Can someone recommend me a good, thorough, non-blind Persona 5 Royal LP? Whether or not the LP is on the forums or not doesn't matter. I started watching TheStrawhatNo's run, but I quickly grew frustrated with the bumbling, trial and error, "don't spoil me!" style Not that it's a knock against them; they're usually my favourites, just not when they don't really know what they're supposed to do

mpg specialises in SMT streams as a whole and just finished a playthrough of P5R today. It's not entirely a blind run, as he's played the original a couple of times and it's not a 100% run, he says because he doesn't want to be sitting there with a guide every step of the way, but he handles it better than most folks I've watched and doesn't read all the non-voiced text in dumb voices. He does stumble a little with the new content, but in fairness, he's playing it on Merciless difficulty and beats almost all the bosses first try. If you like Voiceofdog's stuff, i'd say he's along those lines: pretty chill, talks to the viewers every so often, but lets the game speak for itself by and large.

It's on my mind every time I'm on the site. One of those things that I know I have to do at some point, but just can't shore up the willpower to do. Like I said, I've been in a weird place all year where I just don't have it in me to do LP related things (other than watch them on YouTube). For instance, my excitement at seeing Digimon Survive finally get a release date (because it meant a potential LP) faded in like two days when I just preordered the Switch version thinking "Who am I kidding? I don't have the drive to tackle that right now." I also tried to fulfill one of my own requests about two weeks ago only to tap out after an hour.

Not sure on the status of Pokemon LPs at the moment, or romhacks thereof, but has anyone considered doing Pokemon Unbound? I've played a bit of it (up to the third gym) and so far it's been leagues better than any of the RMXP fangames like Reborn or Insurgence. I'd try my hand at LPing it but I don't think I'd be able to do it justice.

All the videos from the LP, including those, are archived at the Internet Archive. There's a big red banner on top the LPArchive page for this LP that you can click on to go there. So all videos should be available, regardless on which host they were originally uploaded to. Don't worry, everybody always seems to miss the Internet Archive banner for some reason. It keeps happening so it's not just you.

Hard to imagine these days, but ~*Lore*~ playthroughs/dumps weren't actually a thing for Demon's Souls for a long, long time, the primary draw was always the fact that this was The Hardest Game That Has Ever Existed (Git Gud Remix). People were intrigued by the interesting item descriptions, but it was a while til people started piecing things together. Then Dark Souls came out and it was off to the races.
