I've heard the directors cut adds in a bunch of stuff and over explains how the time travel works but it also commits the bigger sin of loving up the soundtrack which had a nearly perfect selection of licensed music Anyone remember the website that tied into it? That thing was wild, loved going through it with my brother for the first time and that creepy rear end phone call between the British guy and the US authorities, I wish more marketing could do genuinely interesting stuff like that

I’ve watched inland empire all the way through 5+ times and watched various segments at least that many more. It’s a really incredible movie and I’m sad I missed the remaster when it was showing here at the local theater.
