"I didn't tell Aya at the end of season 2 she'd be coming back," showrunner Eric Kripke tells EW for the new season of On Set, which goes behind the scenes of The Boys season 3. "We had to still figure it out. We very intentionally left her alive and wanted her to be a player in there, one way or another. I'm not sure we totally knew how yet. But she's the best. I'd bring her back, you know, just to hang out with her."

According to Starr, Cash quarantined for two weeks in Toronto during season 3 filming for what amounted to be about a day's worth of work.

I'm sure she just loves the show so much that she quarantined for weeks in Toronto to jerk off Homelander.

Good episode but I gotta ask why you would load multiple bullets into a revolver to shoot yourself.

A little late, but remember that part of the 'flashback' is no longer a memory because young Butcher wasn't present. After he left everything we see is based on present-day-Butcher's imagination, which is why Lenny starts talking to him despite not being able to see him before. I thought it was a nice touch.

Other things I appreciated from this episode: Homelander trying to connect with Maeve about how you never get used to being locked in steel rooms. Soldier Boy referring to PTSD as "shell shock".

Often times they use porn actresses for that kind of stuff. My extra casting calls sometimes would have full nudity (and pay extra) but it was almost never that sexual - that's often porn actors trying to break into mainstream stuff.

Oh, eff off. If you think that conjecture was a joke, you're willfully dense. That's legitimately something awful this show would do. yea I think the theme of this whole season is that doing only big gestures isn't enough. everyone is being forced to work through their childhood trauma to learn that they have a responsibility to other people that goes beyond hurting bad guys.

There's one thing that isn't clear - does Mallory know that Victoria is the headpopper? This season has been relying on a lot of "conflict instigated by lack of simple information sharing" so my guess is no but if she does then that might complicate the scenario for the final episode. Maybe Victoria gave Homelander fake info knowing that he will go there to try and get Ryan back, but in actually it is a set up. She does know how to play all sides, after all.

It's easy to say in the abstract that you don't care, meat is meat, but it's common for organ donor recipients to feel a bond with their donor. But more than just having the heart of the bastard that crippled his brother and how it's always going to be a part of him now, he's going to have to publicly thank Bluehawk for his "sacrifice," and prop him up as a hero.

Something else kinda related, Ashley's whole conversation with him was essentially telling him that his identity as he knows it is gone, he's just a corporate puppet now- his backstory, his brother, his self-chosen look, all gone. He doesn't have a say in who he is anymore. Hell I wouldn't be surprised if his "old" (new) costume doesn't have a hawk motif built into it somehow.

Organ recipients don’t actually get to know anything about their donors anymore, specifically because it would really, really gently caress with people’s heads and it wasn’t mentally healthy for anyone. Not for cartoony reasons like the murderer’s kidney is going to possess you with homicidal madness, but just cause it whigs people the gently caress out just knowing about the other person, who were they, do you really deserve to live if they died, o god how does their family feel, etc.

The only poo poo I know about my donor is direct medical information, and the letter I sent to his family had to be through the hospital with them redacting stuff to anonymize me back.

Organ transplants are kind of scary. And by kind of I mean incredibly.

It's also not like A-Train just has a brand new heart. He's going to spend the rest of his life on immunosuppressants because otherwise his immune system will attack the big piece of foreign matter in his chest, and even then he's still probably just bought maybe another decade (69% survival rate at 5 years).

Organ transplants are kind of scary. And by kind of I mean incredibly.

I listened to a podcast where they interviewed someone who had a heart transplant. One of the hosed up things was that the family of the donor tracked down the recipient and started reaching out to them and asking to meet.

The recipient explained that heart transplants are still a rare enough thing and have to be done so quickly after death that it's pretty easy to figure out who received an organ using publicly available information.

Really sounds like a terrible situation to have the family of the donor harassing you and trying to meet you while you're still trying to wrap your head around all the things you've just gone through.
