I've no idea where they got him, but back in the 1950s in Ireland, my mother had a pet mynah, called Jacko. The big Jacko story, is the time they came home to find he'd gotten out of his cage and feasted on jam and sugar, so his beak was bright pink, and also frosted with grains of sugar  Edit: I forgot, like all smart, talking birds, Jacko adored calling the dog over to get a treat, using my grandmothers voice, then laughing at him when he arrived.
