The Malta Conference, anyone?

Never forget that PAPI suffered the biggest loss to a bombing run in the game's history on the (I think) E-V gate in 3-D and then later that same day broke that record on that very same gate. This will never stop being funny

I was there, watching from tether, and it was amazing. . I even got to feel smart and like I understand this game for a bit because I saw what PAPI was doing, noticed we could have pursued and didn't, and made the mental leap to predict what was about to go down. :allears:

All I got to experience was the war when we first took over Delve and killed BoB off. I remember sitting outside of pr8 where BoB had their entire cap fleet stashed. We kept them bottled up for a good while!

you people keep saying that. but it was never true.

it was only the stash for 2 of the bob corps.

For sure. The leadership of PAPI never intended to actually fight us at any point. Their entire doctrine was designed to scare us into fleeing like we did in 2016. Additionally, they wanted to cause The InitiativeDOT to stop being a part of our coalition. Hostiles worship InitDOT. They consider them the sole reason we continue to be a viable power, due to their persistent and infected fantasies of the Elite PVP Alliances of the late 2000s/early 2010s. Hostile leadership thought that taking Fountain would prove to InitDOT that we were too weak to be reliable allies and that they should just leave the coalition. (They didn't.)

At the beginning of the war, their motivation and momentum was off the charts. If they had gone straight for 1DQ1-A instead of trying to apply Division-Of-2009-Era-Northern-Coalition-(no dot) strategy to InitDOT, then we probably would have not fared nearly as well. Instead, they spent the entire war out of order -- doing the cleanup phase before they broke the defenders' will.

The biggest reason we did flee in 2016 was that Dek was in strategic shambles after the changeover to FozzieSov. Add to that SMA's messing with the casino and CO2 being goddamn traitors...cutting our losses while we still could was the smart move.

Had RestofEVE.RMT chased us down to Delve and tried to execute on their "Kill all goon" war goal, they might have succeeded in doing so.

I think one of the best parts of the big recent war was that insane 10+ minute cacophony in T5Z when we all got together to kill the keepstar. Does anyone have a soundcloud link to that?

it just felt so pure and good. like old fashioned internet beauty. what we were meant to do with this technology

On the one hand I wish we had left it there as a content generator. But killing it was such a cathartic moment.

Oh, 100%. Hell, they didn't even have to wait -- the road I built out of the North was just asshouses with a handful of POS to log off in in each system. One of the systems further down the chain didn't even have a station for regular caps. Hostiles were so burnt out by a one-sided war (lol) that they couldn't even scout me dropping asshouses. Well, I may have used a corp I snuck into <MOA> to drop the asshouses in Ashitsu for that first hop from Saranen...

Plus, our first jump was only 1 mid from their coalition staging. If they had any desire to, they could have ended us as a viable 0.0 entity right then and there. But they didn't even try. I guess we should be thankful to the colossal fuckups on the other side of the galaxy for their gross incompetence. In many ways, really.

Are we reminiscing? I still think that titan trick, even if it failed, was one of the most impressive things I ever saw in game. Just seeing all of them coming in slow motion and in the perfect angles, people figuring out what was going on, it was great. I was trying to chase off ecm ships in my confessor when that poo poo went down and it made a huge slog have a moment of sheer joy. Too bad CCP sucks.

Here's the writeup if new people didn't see this before.

you should do a Guided Tour of 1-DQ video that shows off all the megastructures

i think it's awesome as gently caress, there's nothing like it in the hisec empires - which is CCP's own fault, they could make the core systems look really wild given the resources those empires are supposed to have - but what Goons have built puts Jita and Amarr to shame

if you bought a bag of cheetos you could even do a segment on the local cuisine

Depends on if you count out last regoonquista after we broke papi.

Round #1: Original bob beatdown
Round #2: Height of the northern empire when we controlled Vale to Querious and jump bridges from end to end.
Round #3: lol Honeybadger coalition. Breaking of Test Mk I
Round #4: casino war refugees. Took it from fawlty’s furry alliance (happy bday!)
Round #5: Beeitnam regoonquista. We broke Test, again.

I think this is it... I think this is how it ends
Also, our enemies conquered Fountain and Querious twice during the war because they really didn't have the resources to hold those regions as well as defend their home space as shown by INIT, TNT, The Bastion and friends going back into Legacy space and causing absolute chaos. I think at one point they blew up a Sotiyo that had two titans in build - two titans that were supposed to be replacing their M2-XFE losses, while our losses were either reimbursed or had straight up hulls replaced within 48 hours

Correct, two titans and I want to say there was either a JF or a regular freighter also being built.

Definitely. On an Asher Cerb fleet while PAPI were withdrawing we managed to bait a BRAVE Ragnarok off tether and killed it.

Legacy will be taking Fountain, Delve, Querious, and Period Basis while maintaining all of the space that we currently hold. So we will be getting an additional four full regions. Every single Legacy alliance will be getting space in Delve, Querious, Period Basis, and Fountain. We will be divying it up as a coalition.
