Also, the closest pizza place to my home in metro Detroit serves dill pickle pizza. I'd love to try it, but no one else in my family likes dill or pickles (awful), and even a small pizza is a lot for one person. We may have a slight tradition of odd dill-pickle foods with the large Polish population; dill-pickle soup is delicious and naturalized enough to show up at non-Polish restaurants now and then.

I posted about it in the old thread pretty recently, and by a remarkable coincidence, Irish lidl has chocolate-covered cheese sticks in stock as part of the Polish/Hungarian food specials. First time in several years.

I bought 6 quids worth because it really is weirdly delicious. Get you down to a euro lidl TODAY and get some from the chilled food cabinet!

(The cheese is kind of like a very gently lemony cheesecake coated in dark chocolate, so it's not like cheddar dipped in milka)

It's craaaazy nice.

Through a series of events I ended up being handed a Mountain Dew Major Melon, which isn't something I'd pick out myself. I thought it was going to be intensely cloying but it's actually the lightest, most drinkable flavor of Dew I've ever had? Not sure how they managed that. Doesn't taste like melon really, though.

Chocolate and cheese is a pretty good combo. Savory+sweet+full of fat=brain like what tongue reports. I like a slice of sharp cheddar on a cracker with a little nutella, or a piece of one of those 90%+ cacao lindt bars with some brie.

What is the texture of the cheese in those? is it like string cheese or is it softer, like when you drain the whey from cottage cheese to firm it up?

Then again, one of Nixon's favorite snacks was cottage cheese with pineapple, so maybe it's a gateway to corrupting your mind.

I've always been interested in Baja Blast, but I stay away from sugared drinks. I was pleased to hear they were coming out with a zero-sugar bottled version to go with all the other varieties they're releasing this summer. Now to actually find the thing.

I did try :black101: LIQUID DEATH in SEVERED LIME :black101:; it was all right.

They have the zero sugar Baja Blast at most Taco Bells as well.

I don't drink it any more, but I always thought pretty much any flavor was a lot better than regular Mountain Dew. I don't much like the original but adding just about anything makes it much more drinkable. Baja Blast was the best of the bunch, though.

what horror the gas

Back when I was a Dew Fiend I would take advantage of the local party store selling fountain drinks at a rate of 44oz for 75 cents (or 25 cents when they were fighting another party store that tried to open up literally next door to them) and I would usually do about 60/40 Dew and lemonade.

Years ago as one of those call of duty tie ins they made a lemonade Dew that was perfect, and the modern raspberry one is similar. Definitely my favorite current flavor.

I bought four cases of the zero sugar Baja Blast. I'm forcing myself to drink water as much as I can, but the tapwater where I live is awful to the point where even my filter doesn't do much good, so a diet soda that doesn't taste like the smell of burning plastic is always a welcome respite.

And god help me, I've grown to enjoy the Flamin' Hot Mountain Dew after my sister gave me the cases her husband bought after mistakenly thinking he'd like them. I like the way it tingles down my throat as well as the sensation it leaves on my tongue -- my only real gripe is that it's too sweet. If they could make a zero sugar Flamin' Hot I could see myself drinking far too much of it.

I'll always appreciate that Baja Blast is the most Taco Bell of drinks:

It's just two ingredients they already had (syrups for Mountain Dew and Blue Powerade) mixed together into a new menu item.

Pitch Black was a go-to for me, definitely. All my friends were drinking Code Red by the motherfucking 2 liter, and there I was sipping a 500ml of Pitch Black and they're just glaring at me, trying to figure out what my fuckin' game is, are they gonna have to kill me? I'd like to see them try. I'm surging, coruscating with the darkling power of Pitch Black.

I never liked Code Red. Pitch Black, and the short lived Black Label were the poo poo though. I loving loved those flavors. These days, I like Voltage best, I think. Though I will never get anything except Baja blast at Taco Bell. When the wife and I go to a KFC/Taco Bell, she'll always get the uh.... I think it's called Sweet Lightning? Mountain Dew with peach flavor. She loves it, but I think it's too cloyingly sweet. But I guess just like how BB goes great with Taco Bell, this peach one is made for KFC.

Is it me, by the way, or are the new yellow and orange summer flavors this year the same as last year? I could've sworn they're the same drat thing.

Looks like some sort of cherry pie or cobbler with some warm spices in it. It probably didn’t look great before, but you don’t do a dessert like that any favors by taking a way-too-close photo halfway through.
