Finally traveling for pinball tournaments again. I upgraded from a 10+ year old crop sensor DSLR to a full frame mirrorless during the pandemic. Kind of blown away by how much sensor technology has advanced that allows me to take sharp action photos in low light conditions.

With the help of a friend I went ahead and '"'enhanced'"' this one just because it seemed like the mood was right. That being said the colours are pretty epic and fog makes the cranes look ethereal, so I'm not sure if it was a good choice. Practice is practice.

Wanted to try out the 18-150 kit lens that came with my R7. I decided I would try something new. Manual mode only with nothing set to auto other than focus, and lock it in at 32mm (51.2mm). I put on a podcast and walked around downtown campus.

Went out to the EAA Airventure air show today. I took the R7 kit lens because I wasn't expecting actual airshow stuff. I am dumb.

But, I am impressed that I took 4098 images over four hours and it used exactly 50% of my battery. I had zero buffering issues, and autofocus locked on and wouldn't let go even when I almost fell over taking the crazy surreal F-35 shot.

Don't mean to be spamming the thread or anything. If it's too much, I'll slow it.

Wow the one with the contrails is awesome. Are they all slightly underexposed or is it just me?

I've been looking at them and they range from over and under for all of them (Many that arent posted). It was mid-day, full sun, with lots of clouds, and the planes were going through/over/under them. The exposures are all over the place, as I've got a plane shining in the sun one second, and a tenth of a second later in the sequence it's under a cloud. I was using around 1600-2000 shutter speed, can't remember the rest offhand. It may be my developing process with the new camera as well. "Low effort" - I'll go back to the originals and see.

The goosebumps of seeing those and capturing them, though. Wish I could afford to go every day this week but with my 100-400.

Edit: I brightened them up a bit more.

This is frow way back, but the picture speaks to me for reasons I'm unable to explain. Just love it.

I'm getting back into photography after a long hiatus, got a x100v and it just hit all the right spots.

I just got a couple of Lightpix Q20II flashes, which are these handy cheap little manual flashes that detach from the transmitter in my hot shoe to become wirelessly triggered. Here's one of my favorite model:

Golly, thanks mister! I had a friend describe my photography to me in a similarly vague fashion recently, it's very affirming.
