Bobby Deluxe posted:One of the nice things about our village is that everyone has cut little hedgehog size holes in the bottom of their gates / fences, so the little guys can get in and out of gardens easily. My dog was initially confused by hedgehogs, thinking them some form of smelly rocks. But now that she realizes they are living creatures (that she can't bite because they are too sparky) she has taken to barking really loudly at them in the hopes they have a heart attack. It hasn't worked yet, but it does mean that she is very easy to locate in the garden if she finds a hedgehog.

Boris might have called an election this year because he believed he could win one with his huge ego, but whoever wins the Tory backstabbing competition won't dare since they know no one knows who they are or why they should give a poo poo about them. They'll spend two years loving up in the hope something magical happens then get dragged into a GE.

https://twitter.com/lewis_goodall/status/1547505264076722178 Pretty interesting thread on voter attitudes. Basically: - they do not give a poo poo about culture war issues, at all - completely fixated on cost of living and the economy - consider consider brexit done and do not want to even hear politicians mention it - wildly pessimistic about the future of the country - no sense that labour offer solutions the tories don't Of course no mention of the fact that a Labour leader who did attempt to offer solutions to real issues was monstered as being completely unserious for years

If we’re doing wildlife posting… I dug a massive pond on my allotment, like you’re not meant to. Two weeks since I filled it and it’s already got dragon flies, damsel flies, water beetles, water boatman, and judging by the amount of different shits around it each morning, plenty of bird and animal visitors. Desperate Dan, tell me I did good!

You tend to see in polling that the public massively support nationalisation, NHS spending increases, etc., but when asked which party offers those policies they say the Tories. The public mean well but are thick as poo poo basically.

The public think the Tories are sensible, sober mid 20th century social democrats and Labour are spendthrift idealists who mean well but can't be trusted with money. Their ideological drift over the last 40 years has gone almost completely unnoticed by most people

The culture war stuff isn't for the average voter and certainly not for Tory ones, it is there to depress the Labour vote. Whereas antisemitism and brexit made it hard for the liberals to vote Labour, this one is designed to make it hard for the left to vote Labour.

Mega Comrade posted:Based on what? Historically this hasn't happened. May did it sure, we got one only a year after she came in. Callaghan, Major, Brown? None of them did. It was only 16 months for Major, not much longer than May. And she expected to do better because the polls favoured her and she'd just triggered Brexit. Losing her majority was a surprise, not a lesson to be learned. The result was also purely down to the personal popularity of Corbyn, so it's not likely to repeat with Starmer. Plus, they now have a much larger majority to absorb losses than in 2017. It should be expected that a GE now would lead to a reduced Tory majority, but still a majority. The other consideration is that we've reached the point where the poo poo is about to completely hit the fan. The Tories do not want to be at ground zero for that and have another decade and a half out of office. When they do lose, as they know they will eventually, they want to be out for as little time as possible. Even with the polls as they are, a victorious Starmer would probably be leading a minority government and facing a host of Tory-caused problems that he has no intention of fixing. I very much doubt that such a government could survive for more than a year or two. So the worst case for the Tories with a 2022 election is to lose and be back in office in 2024, whereas if they try to cling on they'll lose in 2024 and could potentially be done until the mid-2030s.

I'm only looking for additional sativa dominant strains (even though I hate using such terms). I currently use Red2 from Spectrum Therapeutics which is a fantastic Lemon Skunk. A dose of that in the mornings with a strong coffee really helps to clear away the morning brain fog. There's currently nothing else quite like it, which is a shame, as Red2 is £13.75/g It's still worth it though, but only in small cherished doses. Thanks Rishi
